The yamaha tech came to my house with a brand new HHT pad and the feeling of the sensitivity was the same. He told me the area of the place to hit was like 1/8 of a pie in front of the yamaha mark. I was fighting with him for an hour showing him that sometimes the trigger is not sending the signal to the computer. After paying about $5000 for the kit, I am very disappointed and would not recommend yamaha to anyone,
I am having problem with my Hi-Hat RHH135. I sent the unit back to Yamaha service center and it check out working. Got it back and still not working call the service tech and he told me that in order for the unit to have a perfect sound from the sensor you need to hit the cymbal in front of the Yamaha mark. Are any of experiencing the same problem. I am so frustrated that I wanna sell the whole kit.....
I have noticed the hi-hat has to be hit at the yamaha mark as well. My hi-hat keeps spinning on the post, so the yamaha mark moves and I lose sensitivity. Did you ever get yours working properly?
@flammaster these feel kinda rubbery, not as good as the roland in my opinion, but i did play the dtx900k and i loved it, i liked those better than the roland pads.. rolands felt really slick too me, and you have to take in mind that if you put a stick through the mesh head of the roland heads its another 100 bucks to replace it...
@11TripleThreaT11 100 bucks?! I just broke my first mesh head on my roland set, a month ago, and i've had my kit for year now. But a new new mesh head for my set, did only cost 20 bucks!
blurg yuk i love this kit and want one so freakin' bad but im a rock drummer and the rock voice that he plays is ahhh snares on real rock kits have nowhere near as much ring as that one did love the kit but it does have down falls

The Yamaha has a more realistic hi-hat and better sounds. Go with the Yamaha, don't listen to junjun44.

@kkinerk true, depends on your mounting wear. i also have the cords tied to the stand tight to prevent movement. just experiment with it a bit.

How do they feel though? The roland pads are so nice but are these like a real feel pad or stiffer?
