Vitamin D through diet? I don't want to eat that much! Obesity is BAD for your health. I agree with a balanced diet (everything in moderation). I don't agree with abstaining from UV (which is natural), & eating excessively or taking drugs & supplements to make up for it!
Getting vitamin D the natural way (through moderate sun exposure), is GOOD for you!

Burning is bad & may put you at risk for skin cancer.
A tan is natural & protects you from sunburn.
Moderate tanning (in accordance with FDA recommendations on skin type & exposure schedule) is beneficial & may help PROTECT you from skin cancer (with vitamin D & by protecting you from sunburn)
