You couldn't be more right. It's an abomination that tributes like this are used for debating and making comments that have nothing to do with the actual song and all it's related to
did saw Scorsese in Cannes week ago..it was nothing like it,dream come true for the moment..as for the movies today of other new directors hmm it's sad man and the actors it's sad man...there's no more passion for movies this day's hope it's gona change in the future!!all the best and enjoy beautiful film and music.
A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes. But you gotta do it right. I mean, you gotta have the hole already dug before you show up with a package in the trunk. Otherwise, you're talking about a half-hour to forty-five minutes worth of digging. And who knows who's gonna come along in that time? Pretty soon, you gotta dig a few more holes. You could be there all fuckin' night.
so...who climbed up your ass and left a grenade? i was just making a comment that i felt was fitting, besides i AM italian so i get to say things like that, okay?
@afvnut75 nice, I am going to have "The Murder of Don Fanucci" from Godfather II or "Marcia Religiosa" from Godfather III (same melody as the former)... can't say that I am looking forward to it... being my funeral and the fact that I won't be conscious or anything.
I will be interested in seeing this film. but i tried searching youtube and couldn't find it; not even on your page! Can you hook me up with a link?? thanx :)
The mafia is not the same mafia from back in the days. The mafia of today is made up of all race cultures and many rackets that were not allowed in the past.
@tierren I miss the good old Italian mafia, today, it's been taken over by street rat ghetto crack babies who want to try to be hard core by selling drugs at school, walking around with airsoft guns, and saying swear words to mommy and daddy. God, where did all the good Gangsters go?
@Bacon4Rashers The Mafia of yesterday, what you see in the movies are over. No you will not see a African American or Hispanics as the head of a Italian Mafia Family but with the old guys dying & the new generation X taking over its not about old values anymore its about money. These new mafia bosses are going to Rap & Rock concerts & have many different Cultures in their crews. Truth be told the mafia cant survive in this high tech age of law enforcement !
@tierren Yes that's true...Using the name "Scarface" from the gangster movie starring Al Pacino, Pasquale Manfredi, 33, a boss of the the ferocious 'Ndrangheta mafia organization from the Calabria region in southern Italy, had logged on to his Facebook account so often that police were able to trace the signal from his Internet key and find his hideout.
@MrTheBeast I agree with you, the mafia were nothing more than organized street gangs that did nothing but murder & turn on each other due to greed & poor values
Thank you SO much for posting this. I have literally looking for this for over 10 yrs. My father told me it was most likely from Mozart's Requiem and I scoured it. I was unable to find it. Absolutely divine song. Well done! Cheers!
Nothing compares to Bachs divine and beautiful music. His Matthäus-Passion is no exception. Do yourself a favor: During the Easter, it should be possible to find a church/concert near you, where you can hear this masterpiece IRL.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This beutiful piece in the film is, i think, a scorsese's great mistake... Pasolini used the same music in the begining of his "Gospel upon St. Matthew": the song and the history are similar...But Bach's music is not good adapted here...What do you think?
ok can any soul or angel tell me close to the end of the movie casino were they are get arrseted every bodie there a song playing in the back round its goes like this (mother tell your children what i have done) thats i could hear can any tell me the name of that song send me a message or will help
IMO the gangster nature its just the "enviroment", aside the killing, the spanking (and so on) , the character's (blistering performance) attitudes and feelings facing each other and facing life's imposed situations, seems so real.
Vegas in the 70's was the best ,last time I was there was in 87 for a few days everyone tells me that I would freak out of all the changes. it was a classic place...
Most historians agree on the fact that the era of baroque music ended the day Bach died. After listening to the opening of St-Matthew's Passion, one understands why.
Does anyone know which musicians are playing in this recording? It is an excelent version. I have known several recordings of this, but not all are good.
Chicago Symphony Orchestra. It's a tall order to find this. I looked EVERYWHERE, iTunes, Amazon, etc. And was unable to find this version of the song. I'm not sure if the CSO recorded this exclusively for the Casino Soundtrack, but that's the only way I've seen to acquire it, buy the casino soundtrack......
great song. i had to look for it cause as soon as i listened to it from the poker commercial on TV, i recognized it from the casino "blow up" scene, and i immediately had to look for it. i love it.
This beats rap crap , hip hop crap , pop music crap , rock music ,and death metal .

@DieGoldelse I agree. I read the comments expecting to find some intelligent opinion on the beautiful music and is all spam, squabbles and the rest.
Why can´t people just give their opinion on the clip and NOTHING ELSE??

That will remain a mistery forever. I don't know what goes through the heads of these people, but it's certainly nothing worth knowing anyway.
