Pretty, classic song. Supposedly this was originally titled "Johnny My Love" as a another tribute song to the late Johnny Ace who had died a couple of years earlier. Then they decided to change it to Eddie. No matter. It's a great song.
dedicated to my old man rest in peace he had a beautiful step when we dance to are oldies perfect step daddy miss you dokey/de/calecia/13 tu ruca de blyhe/town baddgirl/ your wife

Eddie was the first guy I ever loved with all my heart and I still do Eddie I love you no matter wat we need to talk I need you back-3 I'm sorry but I love you way to much to let you go
Eddie, my love, I love you so How I wanted for you, you'll never know Please, Eddie, don't make me wait to long Eddie, please write me one line Tell me your love is still only mine Please, Eddie, don't make me wait too long You left me last September To return to me before long But all I do is cry myself to sleep Eddie, since you've been gone Eddie, my love, I'm sinking fast The very next day might be my last Please, Eddie, don't make me wait too long You left me last September
@DrWagnerCanek You said it all....I was fortunate enough to be a teenager during these fine times...We fell in and out of love every week or so while listening to these great sounds...
I love this song My dads name and now my sons name I sing it to him all time hopefully he will start saying more than 2 words and just sing the whole song back to me ........hahahaha
This was the theme song for my Aunt Nellie and her fiance Ed. She broke off the engagement when she found out that the bastard was running on her. SOB.
MY mother named my little brother after this song...This song is a beautiful song to all the Eddie's out there or put away, there girlfriend always send them this song, And no i am not one of them. my brother is out here in college.
My Brother Ed or Eddie died sober on September 25th 2009. The girls used to sing him this song on our front yard. Hed was a two fisted James Dean with a lowered 49 black Lincoln.
If I said teen angst and teen alienation on this one that is all I need to say, right? We all went through it whether we knew enough to know about the words alienation and angst or not. And we related to songs, rock, doo wop, etc. that spoke to those trials and tribulations. This is a classic in that genre. Not one that you and your sweetie would call a favorite, not one that you prayed to the teen music gods to play for the last dance but one that you kept playing to keep your own blues away.
that the whole bus could hear my ring tones...I didn’t realize that the sound was also coming out of the
phone and not just out of my head phones. Well after I listened to my ring tones one round....I decided that I would listen to them just one more time incase I couldn’t remember

Great song. My aunt played this song all the time when she had a crush on a guy named, you guessed it, Eddie. She didn't marry him though and probably should have considering how things turned out. Yep, I did the ED-E My Love Fallout New Vegas quest.
you know what made this song great--- listen tothe beginning and the orchestrations, behind the teen queens and then sit back and dream of dancing to the away -- of '' rock&roll i was a kid when this was out and i still love it 50years later. listen to the orchesrta arrangements
It was 1956. I saw the 2 ladies sing this song on the 'Johnny Otis Show', A popular bandleader and radio DJ in the Los Angeles area at the time. They also recorded a version of Gene Ammons (ts) 'Red Top'.
RIP EDDIE 20 YRS LATER BY BROTHER! Like this song says "You left me last September" you picked the last day of September to leave. Missing you forever! thanks for sharing all the great oldies and being so carefree!
I remember singing this at my Uncle Eddie's birthday party. I was only 14 and what a time that was to be a teenager. When you were in love you thought you would die. What a great time.
another firme rare oldie. not to many ppl know this jam,but if your like me your jefitos would bump this shit while you were pretending to be asleep in the room while the grown ups would be on the porch or kitchen bumping the oldies ha ha . good times ppl i tell you..... oldies live forever..... serio......
Oh man the memories growing up... My high school sweetheart, who I married was Eddie, unfortunatley things didn't work out 17 years later and 3 kids. But still love the song :-(
This sure take me back. Back to the wonderful times. Is there anyone out there that may have went to Carol's garage parties in Bell, California in 58, 59 and 60.
Am in tears listening to these oldies but goodies, they were right before I became a teenager, listened to them on bandstand and on the radio as I did dishes. Best times of my life.
To my friend Ed Dobbin, your gone but I'll bet your dancing your ass off up there. I'll be there in a little while . Wait til I get there and we'll party once again. Me ,you Bill ,timmy,Vinny
Eddie was the love of my life when I was young. Of course he didn't even know I was alive. Just hearing this song again makes me cry. We just reconnected via email......we each have separate lives, but still wonder........if only he hadn't thought I was a younger little pest. I sent this to him
memories, i was about 15 when this came out, i was deeply in love with my neighbor, Eddie. i would play this song over and over and over til one day it disappeared, think my brother had something to do with that, ha, ha, ha. what i would give to be 15 again.........
my sons name EDDIE!!! I will die 4 my baby! hes one strong (tuff inside )lil boy! hes taken punches emotionally, mentally and he is still standing strong! thats one thing bout my baby you can knock him down but he wont stay down!!! it is known a man can fall 7 times but he always gets up! no matter how many times he gets shot at with words of negativity from his grandmother! my baby stands!!!!
I know someone named Eddie...This is his theme song. Their brother wrote this song. Unfortunatley, both ladies went down the wrong path and passed on. RIP Ladies
I remember hearing this gem on a jukebox when it first came out , I think it was three plays for a quarter then and I put about 75cents in to hear this over and over and nobody complained. Those Saxophones and the voice harmony stand the test of time.
@thfromrichmond I can remember those jukeboxes too! I was just a kid and hardly ever had the money to play a song. :) It's nice to think back on the olden days. Thx for sharing. :) Your story reminds me of something. That reminds me of something. About 3 years ago I had a new cell phone. I was sitting in a bus and had my headphones on. Thought that since I had a long ride to go, that I would have a listen to all of the different ring tones that my new phone had. Little did I know....
OK, I'm happy to accept some of the credit. And let's not forget some other great Eddies of that era: Eddie Cochran and Eddie Haskel! Well, maybe just Mr. Cochran.
EDDIE MY <LOVE one of the all time greats of the doo wop/rocknroll era. im a historian. i lived thru these years with the Teen Queens. this song is a megahit . it will live on thru ETERNITY. This in assure you. thanks fans. TOMK
The original femme group. What a brilliant song! Are girls singing about letters sent to a bf. who has been banged up in jail or to a guy in the services? A timeless classic 1950s teen classic!
i used to sing this song to eddie, and i was his queen of hearts. now i change it and say "baby, my love" this song is true. he left me, i got sick, etc. reminds me of him. E.S. hey eddie aka joker. Hope u changed ur ways "Fez".
I am 47 now this year, but I remember songs like this one being played on the radio when I was growing up thanks to the American presence in my country...that is why I will always be pro american till I die...American music from the 50's and 60's, that is what I love to listen to now. Thanks for the good memories.
That's what makes them 'golden'...they live in me forever...I remember every juke box in every candy store within 2-3 miles of Erasmus Hall...cut classes to seek out the best and used lunch money to play. Golden moments no doubt!!!
Born 40 years too late! I'm afraid the 2010s look to be "more of the same" compared with the 2000s (especially 2006). 2010s technology will likely change little compared with the 2000s, except for more and more excessive advertising. The American age is behind us, and the world influences, and our elite tries to be as Marxist as possible.
This funk of a song is so delightfully antique...this is some of the very first of good pre Motown singing...Thanks to Berry Gordy's ex, Raynoma Singleton, a virtual genius!
Nostalgia at it's best. Does this bring back memories yes, yes, yes and what unforgettable memories at that. Didn't know the tradgic history of the two sisters but this is to some extent typical show business we still see it among the current artist of today they seem to be caught up in this glitter world of fantasy and can't get off the Merry go-round thanks for the info. Harmonies and that sax wow the song just grooves. Thanks for submitting the song and video. Rock & Roll forever.

The Cadillacs did an "answer" song called "Betty My Love" also released in '56. It was on the B-side of "Woe Is Me."
