  • this song still stands as a testiment to what happens when two hugely talented singers get together with a beautiful singer for good measure. i remember jo stafford from old tv shows as a child and her magic and indeed Gordon's have never dciminished- wonderful thank you for sharing with us.

  • THE NORA SHOW FRIDAY AT PRIME TIME with Joseph Patrick Warzinski on fiddle

  • Two great singers from the days when singers had good voices. I'm so

old I saw both of them live. Used to have 3 long playing records of

    their duets.

    Tnx 4 the nostalgic post.

  • Jo Stafford: Heavenly.

    Jo and Gordon: Heaven's ceiling!

  • Erg mooi

  • We sing this often at church; beautiful with all the parts included

  • Beautiful as ever. These wonderful people do a great job with this old favourite

  • Believe this is one is from 1949, the song I believe written in the 1860's. Love the counterpoint of these two tremendous artists. I've LOVED Ms. Stafford's voice since I was little and played my aunt's 78's back in the 50's.

  • I have this song on an Archeophone CD called "1912, Waitin' on the Levee". It sounds like this one was made much later, though. It's something different, anyway.

  • BTW, it is sung by Alma Gluck and Louise Homer

  • Nice song - great duet.
