My mothers grandfather taught her.this song when she was 3 yrs old she was working in the gardens. Because my mother at that age was finding it hard to pick her crops, her grandfather started to teach her how to pick to the beat of the song and her part was the doo wop doo wop and they would sing it all day untill they finished work. there was the occassional potatoe that my mum remebered, would go flying towards her grandfather. And it has been 55 years since she last heard this song.
Lonne Lee is our national treasure, we need to see more of him. Why don't the media get behind our Aussie Icons of the 50's & 60's? Lonnie played a huge role in the Australian music scene back then & deserves to be known for it in our modern times.
