Last production truck to roll off the assembly was dodges "little red express truck". Came with a 360 v-8 under the hood into dual 4inch turnout stacks.. Farmer's started doing it because they had muffler and pipes would have a tendenct to set fields on fire. Started more as a necessity and kinda grew from there. You don't see alot of gas truck's with stack's on today, but their is alot of diesel guy's who like to run their mouth's and yet they have no idea who actually started it. LOL

@TheOneMetallica1 Lose low end torque? Doubt it. That is a thing of myth. I have dual 6inch stack's on my 08 silverado with the 5.3 V-8 in it. I did not lose anything. I gained from it. With a high flow intake and a free flowing exhaust it is allowing the truck to inhale and exhale more easily and in turn makeing the engine run more efficiently and not be restricted by the factory exhaust and intake
