I had my jpouch done at 20...I'm almost 22 now..and I'm starting to see problems...SooOo..I have started the specific carb diet and also added thinks like manuka honey & homemade yogurt into my diet. All you can do is try and fight. I'm in the same boat girl. Hang in there! It's insane we have to deal with all this at such a young age.

@dotnetwebcoder12 i know how you feel. i miss work and school and i have at least a year more to go. i really loved my work, i finally found my niche. i was finishing the first semester of my second degree and working two jobs. it is really difficult to sit around now and be unable to do waht i want. thank the universe for nadia and her candid journals. and providing a forum for us to find and encourage eachother. love to you. hugs to nadia.
@screaminmeani Thank you so much for your kind words. You are so sweet. We have to stick together because so many people struggle to understand all that we go through. Building awareness and making my life an open book hopefully can help shed some of the stigma. I'm glad you learn from my videos and like what I'm doing. *hugs back*
@pakichick444 i was having a really hard day because i found out about the next test not being until august and then the reversal afterwards and just the thought of another stoma to heal was freaking me right out. i am much, much older than you and watching your smiles and vids gave me hope and made me feel braver. have fun beautiful young woman! you deserve it! you made my life better, not just my day.
Have you tried a high dose probiotic culture, I had Pouchitis twice, My Surgeon radvised that I take Lactobacillus species. You can get the material from Health food store the more varied the better. I take Two capsules of 3billion each after breakfast and evening meal. No hot drinks for a while after taking the cultures. Probiotics are the friendly bacteria that normally in the gut they help defeat the bad bacteria., Crones and J pouch.?...usually only used for UC or cancer.
Nadia, here is somethng you might try as well. You have been taking quite a few different meds and some of them I believe can destroy the normal bacteria that resides in your intestines, such as the bacteria that makes vit K. Vitmain K is used for clotting and if your levels are low it can cause problems with yor intestines such as bleeding. I saw this once with a patient who had crohns and the doctors were baffled for a while until they looked at the patients vit K level which were very low.
Have you ever tried to take certain foods from your diet. Try taking grains out for about a month or so. You may start feeling better in about 2 weeks actually..Now take out all grains including rice from your diet and see what happens. Its easy to try cutting this out of your diet, just try it. I have a jpouch and before I took out all grains I had a lot of problems with my pouch.
