This is great. Question though, is the threat of your opponent cross gripping your close ankle a bigger problem here than classical open/butterfly guard? It seems that having an exaggerated open guard like this could make it easier to sweep because there is more distance to make up to counter and your weight is distributed differently. Even if thats the case, I can see the other benefits though.
I'll try it out in class tomorrow morning though, looks tight.
