I've just come to the realisation that, as a fan of midfielders (xavi, iniesta, messi depending on how you define his role, ronaldo ditto, maradona, zidane, ronaldinho, ginola, modric, hoddle...yes I am a spurs fan...) David Beckham is unquestionably one of if not the greatest English midfielder ever to play the game. Mr Hoddle is definitely the only challenger to this title but what each brings to the field is better than any other two English midfielders combined!
