In the medieval age and antic, fortified cities and castles could survive sieges for a decade.Water is always available cause they are always build on top of a natural underground water source. And food is semi replenishing since the people keeped enough animals and garden space inside the court to feed them for years.But again,only if given enough time for preperation. to halo3pownage. no u r wrong. infantry ALWAYS goes to basic, everyone does. thats why its BASIC. after that you go to whatever else your job demands. for infantry its advanced infantry training. Be it a soldier or a marine.

What is annoying me is that everybody thinks going to a mall or gun store is going to solve all of their problems. Your best bet is to either A) follow the military if you can or B) go to the one of the most inhospitable places on earth (polar wasteland) and wait it out, but with a shitload of supplies first

you make it sound so easy. if you are by yourself, then it would be impossible to take out all the zombies while reloading, because zombies don't come in waves. With a bunch of people, you will run out of supplies really fast. your only hope would be to follow the military, but not taking any main roads.

Thankfully, I live in an apartment building with a good sized court that can allow gardening and easy ability to seal it off.

Also, the building is concrete and easily defendable. And St. Louis City only has about 300,000 people, even though it's surrounded by about 3 million people. But the winter would freeze enough Z's that I could gather enough canned goods for a few years.

I would say wall off a region of land that has a lake that contains fish, and make that into a farm. Have about a few dozen survivors and tend the farm as well as patrol the fortifications. Keep some livestock and a ton of ammunition which you hopefully gathered, assuming you had time from the outbreak. Then just pray that the virus hasn't and doesn't break the Human/Animal barrier, cause birds will fuck you over... Hurray survival!

In the book some people did flee to cold mountaintops and the Arctic.The virus wasn't killed by the cold but if the temp dropped low enough the undead would freeze solid-unfortunately when it got warmer in the spring they thawed and reanimated again. The zombies did decompose, but there were still billions of them. And although they hungered for living flesh, they didn't become inert if deprived of it. Unfortunately the zombies stalked and devoured living animals as well as humans.

You should get the book and read it. Because from what I am already hearing the movie has left out some interesting stuff because of hypersensitivity and political correctness. A certain country had a very unique but cold-blooded way of dealing with the outbreak. They saved themselves, but at what cost to their humanity? This creepiness has been cut from the movie so the peole of that country won't be offended. I wish people would just let a story be a story and not take things so seriously!

Except if one of the idiots you took whit you into the castle gets hysteric and try to escape, letting the zombies in, slowly from a sewer or a tunnel, something that you will only know whenever is to late.
