Can someone offer some advice for me? When I play singles and someone smashes, whenever I block, I use too much strength and so I return it too high, so they just kill or attack again. Can someone offer me advice? When I try to drop it I tend to miss.
Just practice both. When you're defending a smash try and play it away from them because it's not likely they'll be smashing from the middle of the back of the court. Play a drop shot on the opposite side. And if you're having trouble with it the best thing you can do is just practice with someone and use the drop shot as much as you can.
@chsiao999 if i were u, i would train more on wristwork helps alot if defending. angle of the racket also plays a factor coz sumtimes u dont even need any force to return the smash using the tension of the string is enough that is if the opponent smash hard.
Shuttlecock? Hey man no need to add vulgar insults to the coach, he is just trying to help all the beginners out there. You should be ashamed of yourself.

He is simply hitting the birdie back to his opponent...I think he should make a video on block smash instead.
