Personally I think its important to write about things that are important and personal to the writer and the listener too (so they can relate) and NOT just shallow "lets get wasted, have lots of sex" songs. Everyone goes through relationships and breakups; that's what makes them common topics for song lyrics. I doubt its just a cry for attention. More like an expression of feeling

I am trying to listen to this song a few times to see if I really like it. I'm just not a big fan of the beginning of the chorus. I like the ending though. I love Hey Monday, don't get me wrong, but some are just too pop for me. I like songs I can seriously rock out to. Like Green Day, Linkin Park, Paramore.
