tempeh is good raw? i didnt know that! I will definitively try this tonight for dinner-- do you have any tips on staying vegan and healthy? im having trouble not eating animal milk and eggs, even though i have really easily been a vegetarian- i was one for 3 years and took a three month break and i havent even noticed it/missed meat at all. Just i am having so much trouble a) remembering to eat vegan things (I KNOW it sounds rediculous) and b) finding quick vegan things i can eat.
@foreva21girl actually, the tempeh I used in this video was pre-cooked - I found out later :) other tempehs I've tried aren't so good without baking/frying them first. For sure - check out the past videos I have posted here for tips on healthy eating and vegan recipes, and I post new ones all the time :)
If I can find all those ingredient in my health store, I will certainly try this.. I am trying to add more vegetable in my diet. I am lacking of it..!
@pdk2468 Well, I buy peanut butter that doesn't have any oil added to it, so the oil at the top of mine is just from the peanuts. I actually find that if I don't mix it enough, by the time I get to the end of the jar the peanut butter is so dry that it's almost unusable. To reduce fat content, I would probably just use less peanut butter and more water for a thinner sauce. Remember that fat's not the enemy, it just needs to be kept in moderation in a healthy diet :)
I would definitely try a bean, such as aduki beans or black eyed peas. If you can get your hands on some dried beans, you can start soaking them in the morning and then cook them for an hour or so at night before making dinner. Or you can buy them canned. Just try to find some that weren't cooked in salt, as that makes the protein in the beans more difficult to digest. Hope that helps...

Have you ever considered "pouring off" the oil that accumulates at the top of peanut butter before making the peanut sauce -- to reduce fat content?

what can you use besides soy? It doesn't agree with my body so I have to stay away from it.
