I dont like this album, im sorry but there it is. I feel this album is really gimicky, which is not nightwish at all. they could've done some much with this, officially dissapointed.

this is the song that I liked most of his new album, love the time of nightwish with tarja, his magnificent voice and so I follow his solo career. but the music of Tuomas is also wonderful! and I think that's why we're still fans of Nightwish, nightwish all makes us feel like no other

I absolutely adore Nightwish, and I've noticed in this song, and many others, the prase 'Dead Boy', so I was wondering if someone could tell me is there any deaper meaning to it because, in my opinion, it's mentioned way to often to be a coincedince :)

@smiley862 I'm not sure as I am a newer Nightwish fan but, I think it is in reference to a close friend of Toumas' who is now dead. I can't remember where I read that...Look up Nightwish and the song Dead Boys' Poem and the album Wishmaster on wikipedia. Hope this helps.

@musicman972 Well, it's one of Tuomas alter egos in his lyrics =). He refers to himself as a "dead boy" because his poetry's all about his lost innocence. After a warm childhood he faced many troubles in life, seeing the world through an "adult" and different eye, which is different to his sensibility and it actually destroyed his soul :(. The dear friend who's dead is mentioned in "Higher than Hope", and he died of cancer... but the "dead boy" has nothing to do with him ;).

While it is still Nightwish, Imaginaerum doesn't live up to the lofty standards the band has set for itself. I'm not saying it's a bad album, but it's not exactly the best Nightwish album, even if you consider their last album, Dark Passion Play. While I like the concept behind the album, the band kind of fell on it's face with the execution.

As for the song: It's great, but it wouldn't be one of the strong tracks if it were on one of their past albums. Just some food for thought.

@Sirikyuse Well, if you compare this to Wishmaster and Century Child, it's quite more mature. They actually used better compositions and usage of the choir. It reminds me of bands like Therion and Haggard. It's a deeper album than the past ones. This is my list: Imaginaerum Oceanborn DPP Once Wishmaster Century Child AFF, And I am a fan since AFF.

@mikewill9511 I admit that I should re-listen to this album since my little review was mostly based on first impressions (which apparently mean everything to people with tiny attention spans like myself). Imaginaerum is a decent album imo, but I'm a tad disappointed that I'll have to re-listen to each track (outside of the 2 I listen to regularly) in order to really start appreciating it. I guess this'll teach me to lower my expectations and go in with a more open mind.
