@OregonFishingForum u could about walk across salmon back then i grew up on ojalla rd 4 miles out kernville rd i remember giant salmon spawned out every few feet as far as u could see in the entire river we used 2 have salmon way up ojalla cr then they logged a stretch about a half mile from the river and damned it up we never seen a fish upstream of there ever again and i think the fish are going throu cycles only the future can tell good fishing2u try cedar creek bridge local favorite hole
that looks like some of the hiking trips i've done hunting for deer and elk and heading for the mountain streams here in kittitas county wa. or just a general hike for no other reason than to explore cool vid man thnx for the freind invite i subbed you should to if you dare or you're drunk enough lol. but great channel man.
I remember walking thru the woods and swatting at sketters to get to the streams. Caught brokkies and a few browns. My bro caught a rainbow one time too. The only one ever came out of the stream we fished. Not alot of fish but that looks like a great day fishing!
@dnahoghunter They say there are a lot of fish in the river, but they don't bite because the water is still cold. I can't wait until the water gets warmer.
I love that river! Haven't been there in awhile, but spent a lot of time there as a teenager. The cutthroat are just a little too eager to become big fish aren't they? LOL Great video!
@haneyphysiotherapy The river is just gorgeous! And those cutties... I can say that they weren't big enough, but I can't say that they weren't brave enough ;)
@OregonFishingForum I live in Erie PA and during the fall the steelhead come in the creeks and i used to use a spinning reel but switched to fly fishing and i am so glad i did. it is a lot of fun and has a learning curve to fish creeks when people are 4 feet away from you. nothings better then fly fishing for steelhead for me.
@paintball227 Fly fishing for steelhead is on my "to do" list. :) I'm learning to fly fish. I can already catch and handle a trout in a pond, but i will not even try to catch a steelhead in fast current on a fly. :)
@OregonFishingForum yea, it really is just amazing fly fishing for steelhead. The creeks i fish in are mainly fast current but the holes are slow. sometimes it takes a bit of skill to be able to cast into a 1 by 1 foot space in between other peoples lines. Not until late in the season can you go places without people. Sad thing is most of the people dont know what to do to catch the fish. I am nice so i always try to help and give out flies and tell them what and why something works.
@OregonFishingForum it took me about all summer to learn about casting and about steelhead fishing and flies. I read 2 books on it and my dad's friend at work knows almost too much about steelhead. so i wrote him paper after paper of questions which he answered. I practiced casting in my backyard and tied over 200 flies for practice. this was actually just last year. And after 3 times out i started to know what to do and started doing extremely well. and i am only 17, and rarely get out fished.
@OregonFishingForum Here in PA we dont get summer steelhead. they come in during the fall and stay in during winter then go back out to the lake during the late spring. But my fav flies to use are pink or chartreuse sucker spawn, estaz eggs, prince nymphs, olive or black wooly buggers, and crystal meth sucker spawn. I also use a tandem rig when fishing in the creeks. Incase you dont know that is 2 flies about 10-16 inches apart. usually with light line on the second fly so it breaks there.
Smoking on the river. Yechhhh!

Man I would love to fish that stream. We have a few simular rivers here in Arkansas. I just started fly fishing a few years ago, but I love doing it.
That looks like the stream on the movie "A River Runs Throught It."

@flyingbansheedude Below the bridge. Was it really that good 15 years ago? What do you think the main reason is that runs now are not so good?

why does usa have these awesome rivers like this that look so great to go fishing in?...
bmxbilda5 1 year ago
@bmxbilda5 I guess because they didn't f*** up all their rivers yet as some of counties already did.
