Alright boys and girls! The 5th of september a new Dragon quest game will be revealed and the 15th the trailer for Dragon Quest 10 for the wii will be released! Hopefully it will be as epic and great as this!

They BETTER make the upcoming Dragon Quest X at least half as good as this game was in every possible aspect dammit. And in case X ends up being a first-person "shooter" (like DQ Swords) since i'll be for the Wii...then Dragon Quest XI better follow this game's trend.

Point being simply that they NEED to make another Dragon Quest with the same "style" as this one.

Well, why wouldn't they? DQ has strayed very little from the same format it has had for 25 years.

In fact, DQIX was originally going to be real-time, until fan backlash was so heavy that they quickly changed it back to turn-based. I doubt that it will ever happen again.

DQ Swords was a spinoff, and those systems are much less set in stone. They wouldn't have done that in a numbered DQ game. Dragon Quest turned 25 a few days ago. It's simple yet enthralling style isn't going anywhere.

@OhMySong I definitely hear what you're saying, but since VIII was quite simply the ultimate JRPG, I don't see that format ever being improved upon. The shift to multiplayer in IX and now online in X shows, I think, that SE feels much the same way. If DQXI turned out to be an action RPG I wouldn't be too surprised.
