yes it is completely normal...it is probably just spotting,but there is a chance it could be your first period....and at first ur period isnt going to be bright red its going to be a maroon color...or brown....i only know all this from finding out the hard way,lol....so just ask ur mom or dad for pantyliners and u should be fine

You might. My mom got her first period at 13 and I got mine at 12, also my maternal grandmother got hers at age 16. And, most of my friends got it at different ages than their mothers. So I say it just depends. You will get it when your body is ready :-).

@TiffMarie98 It's completely normal to feel anxious about wanting to know how to try it out. You can always try to use a pad anytime, but be cautiou when you try a tampon for the first time. If you are not fully sure how to use it or you don't understand the directions, you should probably ask either a female friend who does know, maybe an older sibbling, or your mom will always be there to help. It may seem very odd and embarrassing to ask, but trust me, we're all girls, it's all normal! :)

@thekeyofcomedy don't be scared! that's the one thing I try to tell anyone who asks, I know it might feel really weird, it's just an awkward stage..I'm not exactly sure how to make everything better but I know that it's just apart of growing up and it happens to every girl at one point, It doesn't even hurt, a lot of the times people don't even now that they got it. If your scared that it will be noticeable just keep an extra pad and a pair of underwear in your bag somewhere private.

@cheetahchick5 ok for your first question, I have a pretty good relationship with my mom and I always feel comfortable about telling her things, but if your problem is it's awkward between you two, then find a time alone and say something like: "Mom I really want to be able to be open with you especially now because im going through puberty..and I think i've gotten my period." Just remember that your mom went through the same thing. :) and for your second question i have to message you.
