  • Trita Parsi is a traitor to Iranian> NIAC has only 300 members in US. He is not representing the Iranian in the US.

  • The plan of USA + Israel are to capture Iraq, Afganistan. Now Israel order USA to capture pakistan and Iran. Wake up people then one by one muslim countries will be under the USA. That's the plan. Beware about the Jews plan and Iran and pakistan need WMD to defend itselves like USA.

  • this guy trita parsi was speaking in favor of doing business in Iran with these mullahs for years. he is a sell out and never did anything for Iran, only for himself. I noticed that he changed his tone once the republicans like bush got out of office. Is a new president paying him? Or, is this regime finally stopped paying trita? why is the western press always giving him the platform? he is a disgrace to Iranians who suffered for 30 years under this regime.

  • BasijiH, the problem is that the U.S. govt. doesn't learn from their mistakes and think it can tell other countries what to do under a U.N. charter. The U.S. has mismanged its own resources for its own selfish needs and can't even maintain fiscal responsibility. The U.S. needs to stop meddling in the affairs of other countries however it can't justify invading Iran for wanting to progress its nuclear ambitions.

  • Fuck Iran and fuck obama nuke fucking Iran give them a fucking nuke already mother fucking cock-sucking shit bags.

  • If we remove the profanities from your comment this is what's left:

Iran and Obama, give them a nuke already mother.

  • same ol same ol.

three minutes and forty one seconds of time wasted as the glacier pace of diplomacy hurtles forward.

    yawn

  • You cant mess with Iran i guess.

  • more time for diplomacy.. how much time? until they finally get their bomb?

  • carryall69, for all the times the U.S. has interfered in middle eastern affairs, what do you expect? Iran is a sovereign nation and shouldn't be told what to do. It's all become a fucking joke and the U.S. won't touch Iran without severe consequences being taken. It is an unprovoked attack should the U.S. even try to take out their nuclear sites. Wasn't that the situation with Iraq? Unprovoked attack and for what?

  • i don't know if this is all so clear. we are dealing here with despotic regimes. iran is in a dangerously threatening situation. the president of iran (if one mights calling him that) is known for his strange speeches and the way they behave in front of the world community is more then disrespectful, offensive and deeply concerning. i'm not sure, if apeacement is going to solve the problem..

  • carryall69 the point I'd like to make is that fighting ideological wars are very costly be it Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. etc. I'd be very surprised if Russia and China would literally condone any military action to being taken against Iran. I've also been told before that I don't understand the mentality or the middle east and what they might do if they had nuclear capabilities. If ground action is taken, it is unwinnable and does cost us more in the end financially.

  • that's for sure, it'll cost a lot. another question is, what will it cost either way? what will it cost if we act now, never or later? fact is, that a nuclear armed iran is a serious threat. it's a hole different level to deal with, than it's now.. and as far as the world community has seen, the consequences are unratable..

  • carryall60, regime change and occupying are not the best ways to go about changing the situation. The citizens of the country really have to effect the change. If the U.S. is really that concerned about being nuked, then perhaps it should engage in more hefty diplomacy through the U.N. and/or work on boosting its defensive capabilities vs. starting long term wars. That is one way to see it. Iran will have to make the first moves should it use nuclear weapons.

  • c69, sometimes the people in Iran really have to make the difference for preserving whatever country they want to have. Personally I think over the long term, interference in Middle Eastern affairs has cost us a lot of lives. Using unprovoked nuclear force against Iran is very dangerous and changes the tactics of war in general once nuclear weapons are used. From the looks of it Iran will have nuclear capabilities and that isn't going to be stopped.

  • it's a footrace against time. maybe the people in iran will manage to overthrow their theocratic regime and find a way to democracy before it'll be too late. but this looks, in the timeframe that's left before the regime will be able to finish building a nuclear bomb, very much like a wonder. does the world-community has the luxury to find it out naturally?

  • well let's define world community and how much influence Russia/China really have in ruling out an attack on Iran. Pre-emptive strike against Iran might have some grave consequences and honestly the U.S. going it alone will be a very stupid move to make. Boost missle defenses as a precaution, but don't send troops in there as an occupying force. Also you can't change Muslim customs be force. The people have to effect that. That is how I see and your counterview is also respected.

  • the unfortunate thing carryall69 is that I'm not in any form of intelligence/military command or capability and don't know what goes on behind the scenes so primarily whatever happens will happen and hopefully it is the right move which doesn't cost more loss of lives on either side or forces us to keep spending money we don't have.

  • i know your point. and in a way i agree. like who wants to go to war? but diplomacy is going on now for a while. and it brought not only nothing to the table, but in a way, it only shows, that it gave them only more time to proceed.. there is no common ground. on the one side, you have secular grounded democracies, and on the other you have religiously vindicated despotism. if only a clash could be avoidable..

  • carryall in war it can be viewed as fathers shooting at fathers. Also the costs we normally don't hear about about is the money it takes to treat a disabled/wounded veterans. So all this rush to war has its hidden costs and unforseen consequences. It is out of my hands regardless of what happens and I'd hope some rational decisions are made down the road. May it all play out the right way in this century.

  • the role that china and russia is going to play, will be interesting to see. till now they kind of play it safe. though russia starts to make a bid more pressure on iran. i don't think, america will be alone in this. europe isn't amused also about iran going nuclear. and i can't imagine really china fancies that idea. maybe they'll be the last ones who'll give in to a war against iran.

  • but in the end, if this won't lead to a total 3rd world war, you know, with usa and europe against russia, china and the islamic countries, i think the communists countries are going to stay neutral as long as it's possible. but in the end, the common ground with the western societies is brighter.. heavy times, that's for sure..

  • Trita Parsi represents Zionist point of view, he is by no means a fair and impartial analyst

  • Trita Parsi & his group should not talk about democracy in Iran after what they did!!!!!!

  • What did they do?

  • @DerafsheKavian They supported the regime and worked very hard to promote doing business in Iran at any cost. They never cared that hundreds of thousands of Iranians were executed or tortured.

He is a sell out. Ask him how he came to the USA via Sweden. Ask how he got a job in USA Senator's office without USA citizenship. He is CIA or worse... for sale.

  • Baiji, one does have to respect the middle east and its cultural heritage however U.S. interference in Iraq and Afghanistan has cost the U.S. financially. Russia and China will back Iran hopefully and help to check the U.S. so I think Iran will develop its own nuclear program and that will be the end of it. Should be looking for ways that benefit Iran's economy and trade vs. being harsh. It is a sovereign nation.

  • A book published this week by a radical Jewish rabbi from the Israeli-occupied West Bank and endorsed by prominent religious right-wing figures suggests

  • killing any non-Jew, including children and babies, who pose a threat to Israel ... Children, the authors insist, should not be exempt from this fate. They add: "There is a reasonable explanation for killing infants if it is clear that they will grow up to hurt us - and in this situation, the strike should be directed at them." ... The rabbis added that non-Jews could also be killed if they "violate ... commandments" such as the prohibition against stealing, murdering or idol-worshipping.

  • whyshould Iran accept this deal? would you allow your neighbor make a baby for you using your wife??

  • Nonsense.

These people are mixing up "cooperation" and "capitulation". In the October meeting Iran agreed in principle to delay enriching its own uranium to 20% level and instead get its fuel from abroad for now. Iran is still committed to that agreement and its position and proposals are consistent with that. The anchor is misrepresenting the facts, deliberately, I am sure.

  • let Iran do whatever they want to do and respect their customs and rights as a sovereign nation. See what they do.
