im playing red dead redemption and im riding a horse thats full of flames straight out of ghostrider and im playing this song which makes it more badass LIKE A BOSS SON!!! XP
Actually, it was originally recorded by, believe it or not, by Burl Ives on February 17, 1949. Been listening to a bunch of versions; Ives, Robbins, Monroe . . . they're all really good. Glad to see/hear this song is still around and enjoyed.
The picure in this video? The Apocalpse! (final battle between good & evil)
This Johnny Cash video has a more traditional "cowboy" theme in the video (but lacks the lyrics on the screen)
/watch?v=LKfG46h-Y5w
I have a playlist of this song on my channel "everybody" has sung the song from Gene Autry (the original) to the Grateful Dead and many traditional "Pop" singers.
Okay, here I thought that the version of Frankie Lain was the best... That was until I heard Johnny Cash.... I take it back... Johnny HAS the best voice for this song... He brings this extra sound to it, that I missed in the Frainkie version...
@hpd2786 Correct. Burl's original is now a video response. A much simpler version than any other I've ever heard. I like it a lot, no disrespect to anyone who has ever recorded it, especially to Mr. Johnny Cash.
What I like - not only the Johnny Cash Version - one of my favorite versions - is the PICTURES - "justiicejayant" puts with it! A classic portrayal of Revelation 19:11-21.
Can't wait to RIDE BACK with Him about the time of 7th SEAL! Jude 1:14-15 w/Rev. 8...SEVEN TRUMPETS! YAH...ippy k-I - ALPHA and OMEGA!
absolutely wonderful.............I've loved this song since the first time I heard it: very good acoustic quality here...............it's often, "replay" it again and again, thanks for posting!
Heard 'em all. This arrangement and JC's voice imho make you feel the urgency of the message. Delivered with impact yet laid back a bit. B Crosby's version has that great full voice at each note but the arrangement is dated and his phasing is stuck in the 30's and 40's. Too bad.
'there brands were made of fire and their hooves were made of steeeel...their horns were black and shiny and their hot breath he could feeeeeel..' sssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh=)
It has to do with Enoch 1:8. My own personal ancestor Jude the Brother of James (Jude 1:1) wrote this verse in JUDE 1:14 which also happens to be my birthday 1/14/63. More is in REVELATION 19. I will be going to Jerusalem myself pretty soon on the FINAL KNIGHT TEMPLAR CRUSADE...ordained by prophesy in Zechariah 4 and Revelation 11. GRACE BE TO THE CAPSTONE. AMEN.
There will be a short HALLOWEEN PARTY..the MARRIAGE SUPPER then GHOST RIDERS COME IN THE SKY...WE WILL BE BACK!
HUMAN BEINGS DO NOT WANT THEIR WOMEN? GREAT! IT IS A FREE FOR ALL! AND NOW THE HUMAN BEING WOMEN LOOK IN SHOCK AS ANGELS LUST FOR THEIR FEMININITY! AND THE ANGELS LUST FOR JUST ONE YES; SUDDENLY, WOMEN REALIZE THE POWER OF THEIR BEAUTY FROM GOD, BUT IT IS NOT FROM HUMAN BEINGS, NO! IT IS FROM ANGLES WITH HUNGER IN THEIR EYES. THESE ARE THE GHOST RIDERS OF THE SKY! 5
This song NEEDS to be a song thats played in a movie as the characters are driving through the desert in a comfortible with the roof down. Who else can see that?
I have an experience with this song. I am crying as i write this. My cousin's phone started playing this song constantly as he was at the hospital they day before he died. It was apparently a sign of him leaving. I got the news of him leaving a few hours ago. It makes me really sad that he is gone. And i have a relationship to this song. I will probably listen to this for a few weeks just because i miss him so much. I love you Danny.
@ChazikProductions Nope. One of the biggest theories, everyone knows Johnny Cash was US Air Force. He got out of the Air Force when C-130's started rolling out the factories. They were not known as Hercules at the time. They were known as The Ghostriders. Google "C-130 Ghostriders". Johnny Cash sang this song on the 30th anniversary of the C-130's.
@ChazikProductions They "claim" Marvel's comic is based on the song. But, the Air Force patch has a flaming skull prior to the comic. I would not even associate the song to Marvel.
My favorite country artists - Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, both Hanks, Sr and Jr, Patsy Cline, Merle Haggard, Marty Robbins, Bob Wills (he's still the king in Texas) and David Allen Coe. That's the real country and nothing's been made since they lit the stage that comes close.
If you look at so called artists nowadays, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Girls Aloud etc they are a flash in the pan. Their music is forgotten as soon as their next single hits the shelves. Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Judy Garland, Patsy Cline etc their music has and forever will be remembered. I know willie aint dead but he is awesome.
@themaster8902 i agree the modern "music" sux. the classic stuff like this is the kind of stuff that will echo through your head in your dreams, where nothing but purity can seep in and shake the roots of your soul.
them riders dont look much like dead cowboys on horses with red eyes...more like angels riding out of heaven, still good song and rip to the man in black you was a good singer.
