i jus think that his newer stuff is good, some tunes there, but illmatic is sooo much better; all the songs are classics on that album. this song's nice.

It Was Written is just as good as Illmatic in my opinion. This is my favorite Nas song along with The Message, Street Dreams Remix with Kells all from It Was Written. Ilmatic is a classic tho every single song on the album but I like the whole mafioso Esq NaS was on in 96.

The greatest of all time. Lyrical, deep, smart, real, hardcore, visual. A poet. Best album catalog of ANYONE. It Was Written is my favorite album of all time; even though it got panned by critics, it's fucking incredible. He's contributed so many classic songs to Rap music. To this day, Nas still remains firm with integrity; he may not be as ill as he was back in the day, but he still keeps things true to the art, and doesn't Rap about superficial shit. 1993-1996 - Rap's Renaissance.

Even though Nas is highly regarded as one of the best mc's ever, I still think he is underated. Everytime you listen to one of his song's no matter how many times you've heard it, there's always something you hear that you never really caught before. He's one of my favorites cuz he puts so much knowledge in a song and knowledge is forever unlike material things.
