  • U can't pivot the head to keep from scratching the floor

  • @schneidermatt

The type of grinding that you perform (Decorative Grinding) is totally different than the type of grinding (Concrete Profiling) that I do. I actually want deep scratches in the concrete so that leveling products and adhesive will really bite in and grab tight. I can polish concrete too with other equipment I have, this was just an example of grinding to remove high spots.

  • Hi,

The shroud attachment for the Dewalt Angle grinder can be purchased through CDC Larue. They've really treated my well over the past few years that I"ve known them, in fact, they treat me like family. You can contact them at CDC Larue at 918-216-6111. They also make their shrouds to fit almost any 7" grinder on the market. Contact them and tell them your make and model, and they can set up perfectly!

  • Hi can you tell me where I can get the dust collector for that DEWALT Large Angle Grinder?

  • Great stuff. Now if I could just find someone in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area with the same equipment.... I'd be all set.

  • Hello,

I appreciate the compliment. Try calling CDC Larue at 918-216-6111 and ask them if they have anyone in your area that has purchased one of their vacuum's. That might be an important first step in trying to locate someone with the right equipment. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

  • @azhomefloorsguy Thanks Jack. Nobody seems to want to work with me. They either want to perform the entire install or nothing. All I'm looking for is the surface prep (grinding and leveling where necessary). Is this not a normal service for a flooring company to provide??

  • @redbuttedmonkey

It's possible in your area no one in the flooring installation business has invested in this type of equipment. Your next try would be to find someone in the "Decorative Concrete" business. If you can find a company serious about decorative concrete, they will also have the grinders and vacuum's to allow them to fix the concrete first before decorative concrete. You might hire them to do your grinding for you. Let me know what happens. Good luck!

  • @azhomefloorsguy

I actually called them today. Not something they have readily available, but they did agree to run some reports from their database and see what the could come up with.

Maybe you need a reason for a vacation in Texas? Come visit Dallas and Houston, bring your equipment. You could do a couple of jobs, set-up a grinding seminar for local companies and license your DustRAM (tm) System, and write it off as a business expense. If I was looking for work, I'd consider a license.
