Why does religion still exist? The teaching of religion in schools and the running of schools by religious orders should be outlawed immediately. "A child miseducated is a child lost." - John F Kennedy.

We must surely know enough now to know that the bible is a nonsense and people who take it literally should be thought of as either insane or inept mentally.

Evolution is a fact, a fact that completely contradicts the presence of a god. What happiness can people truly derive from a fallacy?

that I do agree on that but can science teach the difference between good and bad....I only see that as the only purpose of religion to guide us in terms of what behaviour is right or wrong

So why do people assume that religion teaches good from evil? Religion itself can be a very very nasty belief indeed.

but not all of it...im more referring to Christianity.....not those that existed before Jesus...aspects of our laws today are guided by by certain principles of Christianity. I can live with both science and religion...they don't seem mutually exclusive to me.

lol. im sure that doesnt happen today :) . I dont condemn homosexuality. Not all christans are like this as you would know. Christianity does give us the ability to help forgive, love and help those in need.

Wow you're a Christan too as you know your stuff. Compassion, love for those in need and the ability forgive is what I take from religion. Religion and science for me.
