If he ever comes on to this youtube and read these comments I pray that he comes across mines. I want to express my gratitude of him giving me this gift. • eaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh... A classic. An oldie but a goody. Back when music was made for everybody to dance to.

  • I disagree that this song was made everybody, in actual fact, it was mde for people that understands the meaning of good music. Nowadays, these young boyz of yahooze, kokolet and gongo-aso, have taken over the music industry with senseless songs and videos....God bless Okosun's soul

  • I see your point. What you are saying is very true.

  • Well, I remember that the first modern music I listened to is an instrumental by Sony Okosun that say, "Friends ... are you crying ...! It was at Aba in 1976 or so. The youngman that played it then was a tailor and we lived at no 15 Ulasi Road opposite the Catholic Cathedral, across the East Street Prim School. Life was fun then. I thanked that Tailor man for introducing Sony to me. My best is his 80s "No More War" and "Man On The Run"

  • This song and A Mother's Love by Peter Love on YouTube are tearjerkers. Love the songs and video. This one is upbeat while Peter's song is more of a ballad. Simply beautiful!

  • I just can't stop crying. I still can't believe he is dead. It a hard truth to accept. Why should people like this who brings joy to people's hearts die? Why?

My condolence to the family and to the entire people who knows that Nigeria has lost another few good men.

  • Okosun was a legend who will never be forgotten. Nigeria has lost one of the best musicians of our time. Adieu! RIP SONNY.

  • good music is just good music anytime. no such thing like "oldies" in my dictionary when it comes to some great music for they will ever be green.

what a sad news everyday i always think is not possible or i will say no his not dead

but the truth is his gone well PA SUNNY OKOSUN RIP LOVE U FOREVER.

  • I did not know this great maestro has passed on to the great beyond. Listening to his music as I have often done, I never knew he was physically gone. I remember him as a boy, and always comparing him to another maestro, Sir Victor Uwaifo. Yes, he will be missed by those who appreciate his message-packed music. This man impacted the world with his music. Like Mariam Makeba, he fought political injustices and neocolonialism in Africa. He was a hero and still is, even in death. RIP great one!!!

  • "Mother show me the way..."

I have always loved this song since i was a child. Now that Sonny is gone makes it even harder to keep my eyes dry.:(

  • r.i.p our great brother ,sonny was our warrior one of those artist that fought for a better nigeria with his songs and lyrics i hope the present generations will follow his foot steps and not follow american artist that just talk about money and ASS.

  • rest in peice this song makes me cry this is so cute and so true

  • the worst news in my life is the news of sonny's death. what a lost!

  • Sonny Okosun's music taught me to sing and think as a child in late 70s in terms of justice for africa, with his fire in soweto.

    May you rest in peace.

  • what an a AMAZINGLY AMAZING MAN!!!

    R. I. P

    Sleep tight in God's arms

  • hey when did sonny okosun died may his soul rest in peace amen.

  • nigerian, have just lost a freedomfighter.may his soul rest in peace.

  • Please, somebody should find the 1982 original and post. The background vocals in the original are indispensable, as are the dance moves of the backup singers if the video can still be retrieved. This more up-tempo version does not quite do justice to the original.

  • Blessed Memories..."Rest In Peace"

  • NOTHING TO SAY BUT: REST IN PEACE""""

  • rest in peace our dear brother. u were very classic and u made us proud with ur songs, within and outside nigeria. Adieu!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i cant just help coming back to listen to this song. i didnt know sunny okosun has passed on, "ile ma njeniyan oo like e chop my dad too". what a great man he was , a prophet sent to a land that will not listen. rest in peace

  • I'm looking for that song too. I had it on a tape from when I was a kid but I don't know what happened to that tape. :(

  • I use to watch the original video of this song on Nigerian TV. I aint know it would be very scarce.

  • I remember this song when I was 8 and going to army childrens school ikeja 1982.. great memories...
