  • not necesarily, they use 'spare buses' after they're retired... theres hope!!!

  • So true on that one. Little hope, though.

  • So basically Wayne had the same handle as Crown by Carpenter did? I know Ward/Amtran did as well. But that style of handle got redesigned sometime between 96-99 since the school system I attended had them on the 96 crowns and the new version of those handles on the 99 Amtrans. And the 2000 Thomas builts had the same handle as the Amtrans but they were the last order with the manual door.

  • Yes sir. Same thing as Blue Bird copying Thomas' door handles.

  • thumbs up if you called that the curtain door!

  • I'll remember that next time ;)

  • is this bus retired

  • I'm not too sure. This wasn't in my county. But I assume it was because it was a 5A or something like that.

  • How were they fot you? We never had any in my county and they are rare in TN.. or my part, anyway.

  • wow that is some heavy duty doors there.

  • They sure were some different kind of doors, too. They were ok; pretty thick and tough.

  • The door is so squeaky

  • I know. It honestly got on my nerves and I don't see how any driver could tolerate that at all.

  • how i miss those doors

  • I know the feeling. I miss buses like this in general. I love older buses.

  • Retired 2005s already, dang.

  • @9sb19 no they retired the 1995 wayne internatinals in 2005

  • Oh ok, that's cool I, reckon.

  • This reminds me of my bus from middle school it was a 1992 international carpenter. It had the same exact door and handle it was a tough bus

  • Cool. What kind of engine was in that Carpenter? We had some 1992 International Carpenters, too. We had the 7.3Ls and AT-545s, too. I loved them. I would love to own one, too. Yeah, it was a tough bus. Made of steel, lol.

  • @9sb19 yea i dont remeber what kind of enginge it had cause when i was in 7th grade the enginge blew on it so they put a complete different enginge in it so im not really sure

  • Well, do you recall weather or not it had a dog house on it, or not? If it had a dog house, then it would be a DT466/DT466E, DTA360, or a DT408. No dog house meant it was a 7.3L/T444E.. to my knowledge.

  • @cholamuchachita my computer posted the comment twice lol

  • Eh, it's not a worry to me, so don't let it get to you.

  • @9sb19 ok lol but something seems like they put a DT466

  • Cool, those engines are something else. I love mine. How was it?

  • @9sb19 it was good it got the job done lol

  • Same here. It's very nice and dependable and always packs some power on the hills.

  • Our Waynes were all open out doors. We had those big silver door handles. Not like thoses 1s.

  • Cool. We've never had any Waynes, just Thomas, Blue Bird and the whole Ward family.
