Umm, you are wrong. Curly hair can make a round face look rounder - adding round to round = ROUND! She's right, don't get straight across bangs because this creates the illusion of more width, but having curly hair just makes it worse. Straightening your hair and having it fall along the sides of your face with some nice long layers actually works better to slim your face down.

my face is wide but not as long. and my hair is wavy . it waves really bad at the top and gets les and at the bottom there is almost no wave. it sucks

@bethdcba123 If you have a wide face, you need to create height at the crown of your head to elongate it. Add some volume at the crown and keep the sides sleek and straighter and you will see your face lengthen. =)

i'm still confused abt the right choice of hairstyle for round face. Some says it shd be straight some says it shd be curly just like the Ms Garzon's advice. I personally tkinda agree with her though. Bcoz if u have a straight hair, it'll emphasize the round face, bcoz round is curvy and it's the opposite of straight. On the other hand the curly hair has curvy shapes and it'll go well with curvy (round) face.

@TOHOSHINee Nope, wrong. Round (face) + Round (curly hair) = ROUND. If you keep your hair sleeker down the sides of your face with some nice swept layers and add some volume at the top of your head, your face will become more elongated and thinner. Look at this chick's hair - it's flat on top which makes her face look shorter, and too much volume in the sides with all those curls makes it look wider.

I'd like to add that if the person has shorter hair (like a bob), they should keep it straight & higher @ the crown of the head, shorter at the nape of the neck and longer in the front to help elongate the face.

When I looked @ the descritption, I thought you were giving the wrong advice. I thought-- curly & round faces are a big NO! But in the video, you did a good job of showing what you meant by "curvy" & adding "structure" to the hair to elongate it. In other words, someone with a round face needs to have longer hair for it to do the "curvy/structured" look that you're describing. Otherwise, If they have short, curly hair, they'd look like bozo the clown!

Avoid curling hair next to the cheeks..

A hair look looks great.. curl your hair first and then brush it out to make it wavy.

well people, magazines, to books to television shows tell your their view of what to and not to do. But at the end of the day, you do what makes you happy. Yes I agree people with round faces shouldn't wear certain hair styles, but all round faces aren't created the same. some people just have full cheeks but have an oval face, but is consider a round face. its also depends on your facial features. in the end , do what makes you happy

Its very true! I have more of a round face, but have a jaw more akin to a square, so its kind of hard sometimes to find a look that looks good, but generally I just try to do what I like. lol I have done straight-across bangs loads of times, right now I haveside-swept bands, so really, I agree it is a matter of preference. :)

Its not that you can't where straight hair, but if you do, I would definitely layer it, that really helps from making your face from looking too chubby, I have had that issue a lot, I noticed that as long as you just layer your hair a little, the straight look can work. :)

@snowboardgloory oh my gosh we're twins... i just watched 2 videos saying that side swept bangs are good for round faces (my is reallllyyy round so i'm hesitant since i don't consider those people to have round faces). i'm also not sure because my cheeks are really fat/i have no CHEEK cheeks so the bangs will make my forehead small while not covering my cheeks.. what should i do?! i have a hair cut in a week!

yes, I do have layers. But they don't do much for me.

I have really really thin fine hair. And I see that a lot of other people have the same problem as me. Ladies ( and guys with long hair. ) , we must wait for something great. But what I've found to help me is clip in hair extensions with real hair. And you can curl the extension ! It really works. :) So you guys can try that as well :)

@snowboardgloory I have the same situation, but if you learn to wrap your hair and use the right product for your hair texture, the hair will naturally get wavy. Best of luck, and believe me that you are not the only one out there :) remember that hair isn't everything.

Dont say that! there is a LOT of hair styles for round shape face..my face is round too...round faces look better with our hair down beacuse it does not show the rest of your face, plus it makes your hair look more longer... my hair is kinda wavy. also if you have sholder lenght hair or even a bit longer i looks better on us than longer hair i used to have long hair almost all the way down my back but since i cut it i looked much much better!! try to keep your hair down, and THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!

it does depend on your own round face and structure. but DEFINITely stay away from curly and bangs that are you like hers. basically if you do what she says you will have a HUGE round face. curly wavy NOO .. straight lines around the roundness of your face is a lot better

some blunt straight bangs are not good for round faces but i donot agrree with side bangs for round faces. they make the cheeks and space on the sides of the eyes chubby and wide. wavy wirks for round faces not too curly and not too straight

wrong, belive me side bangs of any kind of bangs dont fit a round face the best style for a round face shape is volume at the top and hair that longer is than the chin length ,and straight hair yes it can fit a round face if u got long hair
