There is no secret formula in the sense that the Coke company doesn't really care if anyone knows the actual recipe for Coke because they are 100% certain that, even if everyone knew, they'd still never be able to beat them at their own game. Coke's been building its empire for far too long for anyone else to seriously compete with them, especially using *their* formula, which would be illegal anyway. Knowing the real formula would never do you any good, except to make your own, personal Coke.

I can't entirely agree with that. Coke itself has been court-ordered at least 2 times in its history to reveal all of its secret formulas and finally did relent, sort of, in 1985. Plus, the FDA won't let you hide your product's ingredients so easily. And, Coke spies on other competing companies almost 24/7.

I think maybe you missed the point of the argument I was having with BearlyPolitical411. I never said anything about "proving" you could find out the exact ingredients in Coke. The Coca-Cola Company would deny any such claim, anyway, because part of whole mystique, magic & mystery of Coca-Cola is the idea that only they know what's actually in Coke and that it has special, exotic ingredients. The mystery is a huge selling-point for Coke; it keeps people coming back for more, over & over.
