I work for ups in one of their loading wearhouse, and i hate loading in these things. The are about 4 feet tall at most so your hunched over the whole time
I think I would have mentioned that there are about 16 computers that scan and send every package to the correct location - via the correct shipping route. Take away the computer - and UPS is LOST!!!!!!!!
@b1kerguy I did package handling here at this warehouse in fla, Man when i tell how it sucks to load trailers and theese types of things lol. Im pretty sure u know.
UPS is horrible, they don't care about packages, I bought a computer, and when I opened it, the back was crushed, like someone ran it over with a semi truck. If you ordered with UPS, open it when the delivery guy is still there
@thestignl Tru, But UPS Ships Common Things. Dont Expect Every Package To Be Loaded With Bricks And Weight 200LBS Each. Most Packages Weight An Average Of 45 Lbs
i order 4 case fans, dvd dual layer drive, thermal paste, 750 watt psu, cpu cooler, fan controller.
package came early but i had a dent in the box. i was lucky cause the dent hit the air package bag which protected my case fans and the dvd drive OEM.
damages = the parcel had a dent PSU box was damage slightly on the edge. thermal paste was crushed and had the tube cracked. but it was still in decent condition to sqeeze the paste out.
the boeing 777 freight has a maximum payload of 226,000LB(103,000kg) and a range of 4,885 nautical miles (9,047km)
the airbus a380freight will carry 150 tons and have a range of 5,600nm (10,400km) well im not too sure of that will be exact i think it will be less trust me and as i said the reason fedex and ups cancelled the a380f is of the delay and the 777 range capability will translate into significant savings for cargo operators: fewer stops less congestion at transfer hubs, lower cargo
ok i work at the airport also i work at newark liberty intl (KEWR) in new jersey and i work on the ramp on international flight i also do the k-loader or high loader which ever u call it and im not familiar with those cans as u know passenger airlines dont use those but its still cool to see.and the reason ups and fedex cancelled is because the 777F will be out first than the a380F and the 777F can carry almost the same payload as a a380F over a wider distance so which will u choose
can anyone tell me if fed ex uses a similar system because right now im just a package handler unlading packages off of trailers and i got offered a job to go to rickenbacker airforce base in ohio to unload cargo planes and i wanted to know if it was how it looks in this video and if its a better job that unloading trailers? thanks guys! WISH ME LUCK!
well at our hub we load the cans well cargo containers into a long box 53footer that we load on the sides and it goes to bwi airport here in maryland .But the cargo cans are already inside the truck and they take em out at the airport but uh they have some pics of those trailers on the internet i think.
the 757 is not big if you can compare it to another aircraft which can old way more than a 757 unless there being deliverd to small airports they also use the 747 but i preffer the a330 and a380f
you might but the major shipping companies don't. Both Fedex and UPS have canceled their orders A380s... which I believe leave no more customers for the A380F. They are rumored to instead to be purchasing the new 777F and waiting for a 787 Freighters by boeing. Maybe you should think more like a shipping company.
I just think it was too much of a financial gamble. There are a lot of cost associated with the new plane. All the training and certification from setting up pylons to actually loading and unloading the plane... Any Ramps that would have to be modified to fit the a/c. In some cases we would have to use different equipment. We don't really have a plane anything like the A380... so I think the delays were kind of a deal breaker.
dang i was expecting to see them throw the stuff like ups does.

Hey pal, you're not teaching kindergarten anymore.
Coastergeekperson04 1 year ago 22
2 tons in a container aint that spectacular.... a lower deck PMC (palet) can hold up to around 5.2 tons. if you use a PGA you can go up to 11 tons.
you can put about 1500kgs already in an AKE container.... this aint spectacular. go watch a real cargo airplane get loaded.

They forgot to mention another advantage in that the containers also fit perfectly into a truck's trailer using almost every inch as well.

true, but i dont understand why they cancelled their orders for the 380's. They can use it for fast deliveries or something.
