@kadexbox bengals aren't known for being calm, they stay highly active well into their later years, but they are also known for liking attention (this includes them being vocal, which can be curbed if raised properly). This breed is extremely playful though. If you do get one, do a good bit of research on them before buying one, also save up some cash, even the 'less' pure-breed/expenisve ones can easily hit over $200-300.

Oh bloody hell........... I thought we had the only one that destroyed doors. They love a pine door.......... easy to get yer claws in. Pine table legs are rather special in the world of Bengals. We have one pure bengal and nine Siamese cross and our pine table leg is getting pretty thin. One of our crosses doesn't get involved in that sort of thing. She's lived on top of the kitchen cupboards for three years and prefers ripping up cookery books......... love em all!!

Sula is beautiful. I own three bengals and they are the loves of my life. ♥ they are SO vocal, and affectionate, and seem to think I'm their personal tree. All three of them have their claws, so I feel your pain (literally). Bengals are the BEST breed of cat for people who want a friendly, playful, and very social cat (mine run to new people rather than run from).

Otherwise, if you can't handle a few scratches, don't own a cat.

You make it sound as though they are cutting the cat's claws out while it's awake, my cat didn't suffer, and he's the cuddliest, most wonderful cat I've owned. If you really care about pain so much then go do something about miscarriages, get them banned because those are really painful and are detrimental to the sanity of the poor women.

I had a cat named Sula that I adopted! He passed away 8 years ago and I miss him dearly. Since watching all the vids on here of Bengals, I'm convinced he was Bengal or part at least but we didn't know his history. He had all the same characteristics and colourings, he was very vocal and he used to run up doorframes like this. He would fetch a paper ball and bring it back to me and he thought he was a dog :)

Maybe I've received the wrong information. The only thing I DO know is that these cats are absolutely beautiful. I wish I owned one, but since my beloved Siamese passed away in 2003, I've vowed that I can never go through this agony again. I loved that cat like my life and while I'd love one, it's my eternal loss to be fearful of enjoying the companionship of another cat. They're the most loving and affectionate little pets in the world and I love all of them.
