sorry MrThunderbeast Mike moved to Philly I would know he lived with me. Ali moved to Boston prior, Frank and Paul stayed in L'pool. He used alot of Philly Musicians Mike Radcliffe, Ed, Berner, Mike Petta to name a few. At one time Mike Railo and and a friend of his named Jonte came over from L'Pool. After Pauls illness they went thru many incarnations....seek and you shall find.
@dccircuitboy First of all, jmg said that Mike Score lived with him. Secondly, Mike never used local musicians until they moved to Florida. He kept the same lineup for the next 2 albums minus Paul Reynolds of course. jmg is another patron of the "claim to fame by proxy" syndrome. In some cases, the poor devils actually start to believe their own BS. It's quite sad.
How can a blond have such a strong hair!!! what´s his secret?? I am blond but as bald as Bruce Willis, great this groups from the new wave, supposedly commercial but full of emotion and inspiration! The same as nowadays
Its a good tune for the dance floor...but dosnt do any thing for me rock wise ...too light and dsco like...I would like to see paul make a jazz fusion alblum or a solo rock alblum there is too much talent there to be setting there doing nothing...
A different type of song for sure, BUT the back-up chicks " HI !! " in the background is off the charts ! i'm sure that they are totally 10 / 10 knockout blondes with an IQ 0f 10.5 . The best " Hi " I've ever heard . Good experimantation with the Oriental keyboards. Perfected on Storey of a younf Heart.
If you listen to Space Age Love song and Wishing those songs a re fantastic ! I f they could of made more music like that who knows how far this band could of went !
Paul Reynolds left on his own terms, he was mentally sick and tired. The rest didn't leave until two years later.
The theory is according to Frank is that Paul was too young for the lifestyle he was living and it eventually caught up with him, plus according to Paul he was an alcoholic which didn't help and was a factor for making him leave the band.
F. Maudsley had left the band, or played very little on the album. Notice the mysterious hired guns in the video, who the hell are those guys? That can't be P. Reynolds on guitar. His style is instrumental to the classic AFOS sound.
Director and...hell,anyone who came up with ANY of the ideas for this video were obviously on a LOT of drugs,or they were EXTREMELY odd,but the songs awesome ^^
i've listened to 3 lps . i heard 14 great songs and 5 brilliant songs . i have heard seven songs that shoulda been number one and the other 12 coulda been top 20.they were better than duran who did 2 good songs per lp.
As has been said, the song is fairly unstructured and seems to have a life of its own, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The video's typical 80s made on a shoestring budget with lots of repetition, but ultimately it's down to the song, which stands the test of time quite well, although over-produced like most artists of their time.
no, you misunderstand. This era was a good time to pack it in. I met Mike Score a few years back and he said that the whole of "Dream Come True" was purely a commercial effort he is humilated about. Great band, don't get me wrong, they just hit a creative wall after Paul Reynolds left.
you are corect this is actualy the second time he left due to his problem and teh first time he left it was beause he almost had a nervouse brake down on his your
He didn't return in 1989 and was replaced by Ed Berner who was himself replaced by Joe Rodriguez. But certainly I probably prefer Paul Reynolds. However, I respect the fact that he has personal problems that he needs to overcome.
sounds like a missing persons song lol

What hits did they have after Paul left and do you know why he left?
mach1man22 2 years ago
@mach1man22 "Who's that Girl" was a minor hit, and they had relocated to Philadelphia minus Paul, who I assume wanted to stay in the UK
spjunkie 1 year ago
@spjunkie the only original member that relocated to Philly was Mike
jmg3244 1 year ago
@jmg3244 Actually all three relocated to Philly. The only one who didn't was Paul reynolds.
