  • How fast does this engine get up to?

  • @itm426 Because of track conditions, and probably the age of the engine, no more than about 30mph. It was built with drive wheels that would allow it to hit 70mph.

  • Wow, there are still Soo Line steam engines running? That's awesome, my great-grandfather used to work as a clerk for that railroad. Good to know some of the engines from that era are still operating.

  • @thediremoose Yes, the Depot in Duluth runs the 2719 each fall for several weekends. I know they'll be running it for 5 weekends in late August or early September in 2011. My dad was a railroad man too (engineer on the Northern Pacific) and he had lots of experience running steam! Check out my other videos. I was lucky enough to ride in the cab on two trips and I shot tons of video of the crew. Thanks for watching. Don Esse

  • Says 2710 on the Engine .... but sure is a steamer. These are a gas to ride.

  • @glazerguy58 It says #2719.

  • @coborn35 The jumpie video made it appear to be 19. Yep, it's 10.

  • @glazerguy58 Well I have worked on the engine for the last 5 years so I think I am qualified to say what number is on the side. Its #2719. End of story.

  • @coborn35 I'm harrassing you dumbass. Take a pill ... prozac maybe. If that don't work try the hand gun under the chin, or the tempel.

  • sounds like PM 1225's whistle?

  • I think its a Soo Line 6 chime.
