I don't like the word Sufism (meaning adding "ism" to the word Sufi) because it makes it sound like a different religion. I prefer saying Sufi practice because, unless I'm mistaken, a Sufi focuses on the mystical dimensions of Islam. For this act of Hazat Hassan Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam) said "Untill Hassan recites and give answers to mushrikeen on this MIMBER, Jibreel-e-Ameen helps him." Prophet Muhammad's companion Hassan ibn Thabit started was known as Shair-e-Darbaar-e-Risalat. Even before accepting Islam he was a poet, but after embracing Islam he gave a new turn to his poetry and started writing Naats in honor of Prophet Muhammad. He was famous for his poetry that defended Muhammad in response to rival poets that attacked him and his religion. Therefore Hassan is known as the first Sana-Khawaan (Naat reciter) of that time.
After that many a poets followed this trend who totally dedicated themselves for writing Naats.
Islamic poetry is rich in the praise of Prophet Muhammad. Rarely is there any Muslim poet who is without any piece written on him. This is mainly inspired from the Islamic traditions that each act of veneration would result in ten times the blessing of God on the praiser.

In sufism, a sama', a dance, is used as a means of focusing on Allah. I don't like the word Sufism (meaning adding "ism" to the word Sufi) because it makes it sound like a different religion. I prefer saying Sufi practice because, unless I'm mistaken, a Sufi focuses on the mystical dimensions of Islam. But I admit it hard to talk about Sufi practices/thoughs without putting in "ism" simply for convenience.

Prophet Muhammad's companion Hassan ibn Thabit started was known as Shair-e-Darbaar-e-Risalat. Even before accepting Islam he was a poet, but after embracing Islam he gave a new turn to his poetry and started writing Naats in honor of Prophet Muhammad. He was famous for his poetry that defended Muhammad in response to rival poets that attacked him and his religion. Therefore Hassan is known as the first Sana-Khawaan (Naat reciter) of that time.

using the net is kool. yes it is a bidah, but a bidah that doesnt effect the Quran & Sunnah ie Islam. rather we should benefit from the net & learn the Deen of Allah. driving is a bidah, but it doesnt effect Allahs Deen. so likewise we use a car for work & to go to lectures to seek ilm & so on. ahk me myself i dont have all the answers, i was a christian, but Alhamdulillah i know the basics & this "chanting" is not from Islam. we should read & recite Quran, there is reward in doing so, not this

In sufism, a sama', a dance, is used as a means of focusing on Allah. The sama', from which the famous dervish's whirling dance, is a technique, and a goal is a remembrance of Him, thus - to feel His Presence. And it's nothing unlawful with zikr for it was meant to be a revivification of a primordial mithaq between God and human.
First sufis, and a majority of them, were sunna people, so they do not contradict the Law, but are a little more concerned with inner effect of the faith.

The "Hoo" is due to the nominative desinence (i`rab) -u (ḍamma) being pronounced before initial vowel, as the word Allahu is run together several times: Allahu Allahu Allahu is rendered as /al:a:hual:a:hual:a:h/ (compare the phrase Allahu Akbar where the -u is also audible). In traditional Sufi chant, the length of the -u is exaggerated. As a noun phrase, the chant is interpreted as meaning "God is".

ask yourself this, how many people take shahadah due to these people? very few if none. the one upon knowledge, upon correct clear knowledge, they do what is ment to be done. establishing Tawheed in their hearts, teaching it to their loved ones, & following the Sunnah. THIS will save you in the Grave when the Angels will ask you the 3 Questions. those upon bidah will taste the Fire for a time for sure, unless Allah Pardons them. i seek refuge in Allah from the whisperings of shaytaan, Ameen.

if the Companions never practiced a thing, likewise WE dont practice it! look at the hadith of the men who was using stones as dhikr, counting to 100. a Companion saw this & refuted them. they said "we only wanted to do good." & it was said to them by the Companion "how many people want good, but dont achieve good!" likewise the Prophets birthday, the Companions never celebrated it, nor did our Prophet!

yes we are! do we suddenly pray once a day? 10? or none at all? 5 as STATED in the Quran. Islam as 5 Pillars, we stick to them by the teachings of the Messenger of Allah, as understood by the Companions. they where there! we dont go into extreme like the Christians, we take his Sunnah & emplement it without going into extreme, nor falling into neglect.

they are saying "Allah is, Allah is..." this is bidah! natt, nasheeds, all bidah. the Companions never did this. Islam is the Book & Sunnah as understood by the Companions, the 3 Generations. we practice what they practice, verily Allah is pleased with them, & they are pleased with Him!
