  • What a great job you guys did at explaining the technique, I saw others that were confusing! I cant wait to do this at church!!!

  • I love how supportive you are with your kids and having them 'show off' their talents, acknowledging that, telling them how great they are and also letting THEM tell what it's about, so they can show their knowledge. It seems like such a normal and simple thing (and it really seems to come natural to you) but I came from a family that was quite the opposite and see a lot of different ways. So yay you!

  • hehe, "used for protection..."

  • Flora, you have been blessed with such a great son, this project is awesome for kids, I love it, thank you for this, and blessings to you and your boys )O(

  • Isn't this satanic rubbish? Why is it called God's eyes then evil eye?

  • @TrynaGetBacToMyLuv

you obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

  • Thank you for sharing this idea I been looking for a group sabbat project to do this go around well done!

  • I don't understand. I remember these making in 1st grade. Is this some kind of magic ritual thing....or whatever?

  • I remember sitting around the fire place when I was a little kid, making these with my mom. Your son is badass at making these ;D

  • Is this related with masonry :(

  • lol how old were you when you made this cause you look old my sound like a little kid

  • the was wird

  • Pretty cool! He is a master at this. The kids I babysit for are trying it now. It's keeping them busy. Thanks for the video!

  • @haynesf11 Fuck you. T_T

  • Great tutorial, I use craft dowels, I also have a few I made with gold wire, one is hanging on my rearview mirror in my car. LOL same concept just on a much smaller scale and wire instead of yard. can use craft wire and thread too. Makes really cute earrings or pendant.

  • I just did mine today for the first time, and it looks totally lopsided. :)

  • you can use twigs and i also made one of these at my lock in at school

  • He looks like you :)

  • I made this in rehab lol but couldn't remember how to make one (wonder why) so thanks for making this video!

  • Just got your book, The Simple Sabbat and was reading through it and found the link for this video. Your son is really great on camera and not shy or bashful at all. I am really enjoying your book. It is really informative and it is nice to see how simple ritual can really be for those just getting started in the craft. I have never seen these god's eyes projects before and have never even heard of them. Thanks for making this video and letting your son be a shining star too. Blessed be!

  • Thanks for the instructions! My family's about to start making some right now. :-)

  • I never saw them or heard of them ... but i'm really looking forward to making one of my own :)

  • What a charming young man. Many blessings to you and your family.

    Namaste,

    Lisa joy

  • This is a very awesome craft I am going to make one as soon as I get home! :) Thank you! Blessed Be

  • We made these in school when I was about age of your son :) but teacher only told as its traditional(Finnish?) thing of art&craft, nothing to do with craft of wise but gues ppl do these with different meaning and without any particular meaning.Your son is very talentic with it,Yay!

  • Now do Sauron's eye

  • If anyone needs any God's Eyes, I know how to make them very well. Message me if you are interested. Peace!

  • Tell your mom it was hurtful when she said u were an expert

Because some people are trying still

  • My mom used to be Pagan when I was younger, so I grew up with it. I'm Christian now, but Paganism is such a relaxing religion. I really enjoy both religions and tend to enjoy these types of things, though I do believe in the Christian God. Such a cool video~!

  • Can you please buy a tripod, some of that video was nauseating.

  • Oh that was lovely to watch! Thank you so much for this video!

  • I used to make those in elementary school! : )

  • Tell him he made a very nice tutorial and it reminded me of the steps! I did this so long ago I couldn't remember the wrapping technique and he helped me greatly!

  • Creepy, I was just making them out of toothpicks! When you said it I was sort of confused (I was just wrapping one with toothpicks while you mentioned it.)

I plan on making earrings with them- but yeah just a funny little thing I thought I'd add!

  • I've made God's Eyes before (good to sell and, like you said, for gifts), but I didn't know the pagan uses, too.

Thank you for posting this video! :)

  • @DjB2Productions uhmmm 4 ur info, its not christian, its a hispanic/mexican tradition when a babys born they start a gods eye

  • I made a 6 pointed one

  • awesome :)

  • Your yay's make me happy! YAY!! :) xxxxx

  • A piece of yarn and a stick are going to protect me? HA, HA, HA!!!

  • Beautiful video, I think it's amazing that you get the kids involved in your craft, and religion. There seems to be alot of respect between you too. Blessings to you all!

  • I've seen these sold at outdoor fairs before and always wanted to know how they were made. Now that I've seen your video I think I'll make me some. Thanks for posting such an informative video. Keep up the good work.

  • we made those at school in 6th grade

  • A fun craft but "powers"? You've got to be kidding.

  • you should make one with tassles

  • what's the use of this

  • Lest we forget the terms are Archaic e.g. protection from the evil eye is the evil eye. Vote me up dammit I'm the Lord

  • That night while she was asleep I made her a gods eye, blessed it, and then put it next to where she was sleeping. The next day she told me that it worked because she had a nightmare but it suddenly turned into a wonderful dream... I assume that's when I put the gods eye next to her

  • These are really cool crafts to do and they really work! Once when my nine year old cousin was spending the night and she told me she was having nightmares every night. I told her I could make her something that would get rid of the nightmares and she thought I was going to make a dream catcher.

  • I made these whne I was Catholic b4 Now I am Muslim but Still Respect this as we too Have a Chapter From the Quran we hang and also the Evil eye Pendant

  • aww you guys speak very much alike <3

    he's adorable.

  • hey thanks man, i had to learn how to make these for homeworkin my chinese class. it really helped! your the man

  • thanks so much for the demo video- I used to make these as a kid- and for some reason started thinking about them again. I'm not as fast as the video, but I do have nice technique because of it. Thank you!

  • how is it that i am just now hearing about this ive made atleast 6 of them????

  • i like boy thenks :D

  • Very cute, my son will be very happy to see this :-)

  • I just had an idea about what these could be used for! Just like how you can tie knots in a cord to hold energy, you could weave one of these on a particular day to harness and capture (that word sounds kinda forceful but you know what i mean) the nergy and use it that way.

  • omg i may these as a kid with Popsicle sticks and yarn, me and grandma did and we hung them in my room from the ceiling.

  • I loved this video, I have been looking for projects for my kids to do and is one is perfect. Thank you a lot. My 12 year old daughter and 11 year old son are going to have some fun with this one. Blessings

  • and instead of over under i did the same way s the sticks line wuldnt shw up

  • i would just ht glue the yarn t 2 popsicle sitcks and glue the pop stick together

  • i used to make these with a conker/chestnut in the middle, yout ake a conker stick the kebabsticks in it in a cross and do the yarn thing around it

  • Thanks! this is helping me with my project perfectly:)

  • good job

  • What are the purpose of these?

  • This is so awesome! I learned how to make these last year and I made a bunch of them and they're all over my house and my room, but i didn't even think about using them for my spells or anything! XD I do them just a little bit differently, and I put little tassel-like things on the end (:

  • crazy monkey?

  • Great job. I think the next time I get together with my Pagan friends, we might try this.

  • erm.. whats up with your voice?

  • this is great!! i remember doing this when i went to a Luthern school. this actually would be a perfect craft for the camp i go to every summer and will start working at next year. definitely gonna do this soon

  • iv done two with toothpicks!! its wat id call poor mans knitting!! lol

  • This is a great vlog! Your son is so good at making these! And so fast! He could go into business for himself, he produces them so quickly! lol

  • That kid is wicked fast! I forgot how to make these after about 5 years, so I was really excited when I found this! Thank you!

  • Perfect tutorial. I needed a refresher. Teaching 364 kids to make these on Friday for our Cinco de Mayo celebration.

  • Your son is way too cute. I remember my mom teaching us kids how to make these. These were haging all over our house and in different family members and family friends homes also. Bright blessing to you and yours!

  • What a lovely video. :) I've made two of these for Mabon. :) Blessings!

  • That wuz awesome !!!! I have a question do u just keep looping under and over on each stick i dont unserstand ?!?!?!?!?!

  • Very very helpful video! I had trouble finishing off my God's Eyes and all the other tutorials weren't specific enough! Thanks!

  • I using this to make the base of a homemade baby mobile :) I remember making them when I was younger and needed a reminder hehe

  • hey we cal it il mal'occhiu in sicily

i put crystals or stones in the centre of mine, and sometimes herbs or oils i also made one from incense sticks, nice to see the kids getting involed :) BB

  • I was wonderig who gives the evil eye?

Can both people and demons give the evil eye, or is it just from other people?

I guess what i'm asking is will the evil eye protect u from demons that are on people?

  • The evil eye comes in the form of envy, hate, jealousy, negative emotions, hateful words spoken against you...etc....

  • you could also use popsicle sticks or those craft stick thingies

  • I make these and they are so fun to make, I love experimenting with colours

  • look at his t-shirt its said crazy monkey...

  • I really like this! I'm going to try this out...I just love all the craft ideas you have! They all remind me of those warm, happy feelings from my childhood. ^.^ I'm also gonna go check out your video on working candles. :)

  • Now I know what to do with those chop sticks I get when I go out to dinner. And left over yarn too. Good looking young man by the way, very helpfull. BB )O(

  • I made these in my art class in grade school back in the late 70's. I did mine in one direction to get a flat surface which was different from the way our teacher showed us. She like it better than her own. So did the other teachers who kept buying them from me.

  • Thank You so much for posting this!!! I will now get a good Spanish grade with your help.

You are a better instructor than my teacher who is giving me a grade for it lol.

  • i still dont get the whole under, over thing he goes to fast and doesnt stop to show its to complicated

  • @switalskigirl:

Actually, it's not that complicated; just a tad difficult to see unless you know what to look for. It's referring to which direction he twirls the yarn around the stick. "Over" goes clockwise around the stick, and "under" goes counter-clockwise...kind of.

Just replay the part where she tells him to slow down and watch carefully. :) If you have any more difficulty, shoot me a PM: I can try to explain.

  • cool i just made one with tooth picks and string and hung it on my tree .thanks for the video im gonna make some for my friends now

  • You all are a crafty family like mine:) I love that. You can also put it on a neclace :)

  • I have a silly question. Why have a working candle and what is its purpose?

  • I have a video about working candles

  • Cool I made those in art class grade school we used popsicle sticks we also used multiple sticks in that was at least 20 years ago I went too a public school and I think they called them Gods eye back then but I am not positive

  • that like orange and yellow yarn is awsome sweet vid

  • this is super neat (:

I'm not so into the beliefs, but to each his own (:

I'm all excited to make them now. ahaha.

  • Cool! I'm going to make some of those. Thanks for this video. :)

  • Do you make hats????

Where'd you get the top and necklace from??? I WANT THEM!!!!!!

  • You should make small ones with wire as the sticks or something and make necklaces! :)

  • Can you explain the working candle? Is it a candle that you use for all spells? Do you cleanse them after each spell, or just keep going with them? Or do they represent you and then light other candles for spells?

  • You can check out my video about this...It is about concecrating and sacred space. Check out the front page of my channel to see a list of videos to get the number. That explains it well.

  • Yah. I watched it. There is an Italian tradition like that. They keep the flame burning all the time, they call it their "Perpetual flame" and right before the candle is going to dye, they light another one (they get big pillars or 7 day candles).

    Thanks :)

  • I love those. we had a guest in 6th grade come and make those as well as dreamcatchers with us. native americans would put a layer of yarn on every year for their child until they were 7. it protected them and made them strong and overall helped them grow along with the god's eye. i still have mine hanging up in the living room. lol

i cannot wait until your son has his own youtube channel!!

    BLESSED BE

i cannot wait until your son has his own

  • What a good idea! And how sweet is your son?!?! Love it!! Thanks again for yet another fab idea! BB x

  • This is SO cool! I want to try making one now. I cant wait to go get some sticks and yarn! Woo-hoo for "Craft" crafts! LOL Be sure to pass along a big THANK YOU to your son for doing this video for us! What a great son you have. BB to you and yours.

  • I wish i could have remembered about this this year for the summer solstice... o well fantastic vid.

  • I remember doing this at school, but my teacher found them on the Internet & thought it would be a good art project.

    GREAT video.

  • u know indian started makin gthis

  • i wanna do one now

  • You know, I just wanted to say -- I love the fact that you're incorporating your children into your paganism and sharing the tradition with them. This is what it's all about, the love and the light! I admire you so much and I'm absolutely astounded at the quality of your videos and teachings. This is really what teaching and mentoring is all about. Proud to be a pagan because of people like you and your family! <3333

  • since i bought a huge b.o.s i can like put ummmmm like on the scrying mirror i can make a little one and glue it in mybook so its like huge so i might put this in my protection section lol blesed be

  • I think videos like this show that there is hope for us as a species yet.

  • I decided that i was going to make on one today for litha so i was making it as I was watching the vid only had trouble making the loop. Great vid the one i made is going to go on my litha altar today. Thanks and Blessed be!

  • i've made miniature ones of these using finer wool or embroidery thread and using cocktail sticks. their quite effective and you can put them everywhere! you can hang them from your rear view mirror in the car and you could even put one by your fairy houses!

  • Thank you so much for replying!! I will definitely watch your vid on books and will get Circle Round and listen to the CD.

I am so glad that I chose to be pagan. Hopefully my kids won't be as confused as I was about their spirituality. I grew up Jewish and just did not understand it.

    Thank You. Blessed Be )0(

  • I thought I responded to this before...grrr... : D

Go to the Guitar Center website and look at their Toca Drums, they have sales all the time. We got ours cheap, cheap...

  • I really admire how your children participate in paganism. I have a three year old and a 4 month old. Could you possibly give me some advice on how you were able to get them to participate? My 3 year old daughter has expressed interest in my altar and the rituals that I do. I just don't know how to get her involved more because right now she just observes and asks questions about what it is I am doing.

  • Watch my Recommened Reading Video...I have books in there for pagan families...Yay!!! If you get Circle Round, get the CD that goes with it...the songs rock.

  • lol I just came back to this video to basically have your son walk me through it. I was just about to switch to a third color and I broke one of my sticks lol. I hope that's not an omen about my Summer Solstice-- lol Nay, just proof that I shouldnt buy such cheap sticks :)

  • Aww that is awesome, I love how you allowed him to make a video! Hes a great Youtuber :) 5 Stars

  • sorry i keep asking questions but your videos are so informative and interesting it always raises more questions for me (if that makes sense?) anyway i was wondering what is a working candle/ why do you use one?

  • You can go to my video called Concecrating, Charging and opening sacred space...that may help you. let me know.

  • What a pro ! Good job. Great video presenter.

  • dang that's a well-spoken kid.

  • yay lol.

i made one with fancy wool, so its all blue and furry :] i love it.

  • Sounds Awesome!!!

  • Oh yes the native american used these. These are pretty cool.

  • that is too cool im going to get the stuff tomorrow :D

  • COOL:)

  • wow my nan taught me how to make these...but i never associated them with magick. i've still got one somewhere! i'll dig it out for the solstice!

  • aww your kids is so cute!!!

  • I learned how to make them in 4th grade! I never knew they had a meaning though.
