  • Is this Bluetooth

  • What bike have you got?

  • whats the battery life on it?

  • @Mickygemma It's just a case....so zero battery life.

  • @Techmoan i meant the sat nav LMFAO

  • @Techmoan i meant the SAT nav. Where did you get it from?

  • I have honda SH125. So the question is, can I use it without plug in in, cos I have no place for plugging?

  • @heidi4srki i was thinking the same lol i have a Honda PCX

  • @Mickygemma i've got this one recently, planing to study london taxi. i was thinking to get pcx but wasn't sure so in the end I've got sh. anyway pcx looks very cool

  • it's called Velcro can it really be that difficult?

  • you sound just like James may BTW, "your riding a motorcycle you imbecile" :) but seriously looks pretty neat might be a sound investment, ride safe m8

  • I'm in the market for a handheld, saw some good articles on gpssatnavreviews (.) com

  • I bought it but have a big problem with it, i run the long straps around the handle bars and just like your scooter I have large handlebars but after u got through the loop and go back on yourself the velcro does not stick, well it couldn't stick, the whole strap on one side is rough and the opposite side is smooth and fluffy which the rough side is supposed to stick to this cannot happen unless u twist the strap . am i doing somethign wrong here???????? help..........

  • @eamonn19781978 You are not going crazy. Mine is the same. When I made the video I didn't even realize that the velcro on the straps weren't linking together. When I noticed I thought I must be doing it wrong too, however I've since resigned myself to just twisting each strap. It works fine this way.

  • @Techmoan I think the straps are designed to be wrapped around thinner handlebars - the Velcro would reach the correct part of the strap if it was warpped around a thinner bar.

  • Thanks for the video. Been umming and ahhing about whether to spend £70+ on the Ram Aqua Box stuff for my phone then I saw this beauty.

  • @Pernig Just had a look at the Ram myself following your comment. Interesting - wouldn't fit my bike because of the chunky handlebars. It's still a big saving on the purpose built bike sat navs (I've no idea why they charge so much for these).

  • @Techmoan The bike satnavs are so much because they have to be certified waterproof, shock proof and often dust proof too. Car satnavs don't have to be so tough.

  • you sound like ringo starr!

  • Brilliant vid, very informative as I've been on the look out for some gps mounting solutions for my 2010 Kawasaki versys. Bike sat navs are too expensive, and having to stump an extra £100 for bluetooth on my caberg konda is the final nail in the coffin.

  • I like how you got a cheap satnav running windows CE and cracked it and put tomtom on it ;)

Exactly what Id do, Oh and good product demo, think Ill go n get one of them :D

    Lew ;)

  • @12lewis12 After I made the video, I realised the little SatNav looked a bit odd in the big case and I got a Widescreen Tomtom in a sale (so I suppose they got their money from me in the end).

  • @Techmoan :P ah well. Thanks for the great review. I'll deff be getting one sooner or later. Ta, Lew ;)

  • I have the same gps case. It works perfectly with my pda-gps phone on my piaggio mp3 250ie lt. I also use a 3400mha usb battery in the second compartment. Really neat!

  • Thats better than attaching a wire to the bike. The 250 doesn't have the 12v socket under the seat - but even though I do, I wouldn't want a wire trailing from it.

  • Where does the power come from for satnav or are they battery operated.

    Thanks.

  • It depends on your sat nav. Most can run off an internal rechargeable battery. The case also has a compartment to store an external rechargeable battery or you could attach the sat nav to 12v connector on your bike (mine has one under the seat).

  • Brilliant review. Thank you for posting.

  • Thanks for the feedback.

  • seems to be a good solution to the expensive purpurse built sat navs.Have been looking for one ror my bmw r1200rtse or a bigger map! thanks for the good advise

  • Here's another option you may want to consider. The Garmin GPS has an attachment which makes it stick to the inside of the windshield of your car with a suction cup. I use that to stick mine onto the clear window cover of the speedometer on my motor scooter. Amazingly, it doesn't get blown off by all the wind, and doesn't get knocked off when you roll over bumps. Although my fiance thinks it looks hillarious, and perhaps she's right, it really works well, and I'm very happy with it on the road.

  • Another great review. Cheers again.

  • OK - thanks for the advice I'll bear that in mind. It's behind a pretty good windscreen - water doesn't really get on the clocks - but I'll keep my eye on it.

  • You really need that other cover on top as the zip won't be waterproof.

  • No probs! I've got the Givi version on my MP3 which is pretty much the same thing. I did a 180 mile round trip a few weeks ago but could hardly see the screen for sun glare. :-(

I guess these bags would be quite good in the winter but in the summer they're not much cop.

  • I've now updated the Sat Nav to a TomTom 520 (widescreen model) and I'm using this with a wireless headset. See my blog (link shown at the end of the video) for a photo and a bit more info.

  • Fantastic. I'm going to buy this now.

Seems a much better idea than buying the expensive motorbike ones.
