  • Halo, kicking ass since 2001

  • When Halo CE came out in 2001 I was only 11, and now ive grown up and so has the series, and so have a lot of fans like myself, and im honoured to know that the series will carry on as i do and i will get to witness steps John 117 will take in his life, as I take the steps in mine. When people remember the Halo series in the future, i'l be proud to say I was there :)

  • @KinkKontroversy true dat, brotha

  • @KinkKontroversy

    Same here bro.

  • This is absolutely my favorite song from Halo 2

  • FLOOD

GOING TO KILL US AAAHHHH =D

  • complete chills at 1:40

  • In the center of this zone is the sacred icon critical to the great journey...

    I must find it...

  • Halo will be remembered throughout the line of gaming. It has changed it, molded it into something better....

Don't Let Halo Go. Don't let it die. It deserves better than that, we all know it...

  • i love halo 2 on the pc there is still lots of players on it

  • =')

  • this song reminds me high charity and how was infected by flood some time you go there.it was the great city of the covenant. truth he did not care about it?

  • Probably in my Top 5 favorite Halo tracks of all time, right up there with ODST's 'Finale'. Although I'm psyched for a new trilogy, I'll always remember the days I spent playing Combat Evolved in co-op for the first time, wasting hours of my life on Halo 2 online, and finally getting Halo 3 to finish the fight. I'm excited to see what 343 can do, but nothing can beat my nostalgia for the original series. Long live Halo!

  • i want to play halo 2 again

  • @Heracleithon you can if you have a really good pc halo 2 windows vista works on windows 7 and there is lots of people still playing

  • Martin O'Donnell is a genius!

  • Its music like this that will have me look back at stuff like this in life and be like, "wow".

  • Man, if Marty isn't back for Halo 4...

    Tears. I'd be so sad.

  • @Gronzlo sorry to be the one to make you cry, but he's not coming back for Halo 4. It will be a composer who coworked on MGS4

  • Comment removed

  • the 2 people who dislike this are COD fags

  • @tHISiSsPARTA585

i agree how can anyone dislike this song

  • I always feel as if I should be doing something meaninful while listening to this song, instead of sitting at the computer.

  • @TheSeptacle Well said, I feel the exact same way.

  • @ApparentAptitude I'm glad not to be the only one.

  • I meant "and then electronic".

  • This is probably the best piece in H2 OST volume 2, barring Unforgotten. From sad to solemn to epic and the. E

  • Halo and cod, those 2 games are gonna rock the shit out in the gaming history.

  • @FatRockers101 i was...

  • This track makes me feel like it's the end of Halo but yet it's still the beginning. Gods must be strong...

  • 2 people were cod fan boys

  • @coldkill15 no those 2 people are gay butt buddies

  • @that1dude0092 Dont use gay as an insult, please >>

  • @TheRainbowInsanity ok fine

then those 2 people are butt buddies

  • @that1dude0092 Wouldnt that be the same thing as gayyyy? >o>

  • @TheRainbowInsanity nope

gay means happy (the reason its used on people that are homo sexual is because....WHY THE FUCK AM I DISCUSSING SEXUALITY NOW!!!) ok im done arguing

  • @that1dude0092 We were argueing? o-o

  • @TheRainbowInsanity ¯\(°_o)/¯ i dunno lol

  • @that1dude0092 Epic face! O:

  • Martin ist still a god of music....why nobody fears him so like micheal Jackson?

He makes the best beautifulst and most felling music!!!

    I <3 it

  • i agree, bring back marty for halo 4

  • Best soudtrack. Of all time!

  • god i still got halo 1 and halo 2!

  • It's Martin O'Donnell's theatrical performance in such a game along with the complexity of the Halo Universe that keeps me saying there NEEDS to be a live-action Halo movie. We have the ability to do it too...

  • Martin O'Donnell is to Halo as Nobuo Uematsu is to Final Fantasy. Both game series wouldn't be quite as good without either composer because they bring so much depth and emotion to every moment. Hopefully 343 Industries will bring him back for Halo 4!

  • @djshep1989 "They won't"

  • @djshep1989 They'd be crazy not to. That'd be like if George Lucas suddenly picked Danny Elfman over John Williams.

  • @NorthWriter danny elfman and john williams sucks

  • @djshep1989 final fantasy's music sucks

  • @djshep1989 Did you also realise thet Martin O'Donnell composed many Halo songs?

  • @harryguy121 He composed every halo song. But I think that he will be working with 343

  • FINALLY i found this song! YEEAHH!

  • What ever happened to the massive halo fanbase? Where did all the loyal fans go. Remember meeting friends on Xbox Live because of Halo? Remember playing the campain over and over again? Remember when Halo was the best video game franchise in the world? Now COD has brain washed them all. They stole are friends, enemys and the annoying 10 year olds we all hate but they will never steal are Halo spirit! We will never finish the fight.

  • @ruggedscorpio Wait. Call of Duty is good too. Battlefield Series else. But we played Halo when we growed up, getting older. Games gone better, learning from each other. But that time we palyed Halo, it was the first of its kind. Real Science Fiction, plausible story, and a hero with his own mistakes, like any other human. And this soundtrack. We finished the fight, seeing friends dying. Keyes, Johnson, Forge. Everything good always ends, thats the way of all life, cant change it. Fucking Circle

  • @ThePandoraGuy Well said.

  • @ruggedscorpio Now as we stand ALL together when mw3 comes out HALO CEA WILL KILL IT! HALO 4 will destroy the cod franchise and help our lost friends to get from cod back to Halo or its death.

  • @ruggedscorpio Halo will always be the true face of first person gaming. The game brought together millions of people and changed our world forever, and now Call of Duty stands to soil the genre. I agree. We will never finish the fight.

  • @ruggedscorpio Where did all the loyal fans go? They're right here, listening to this song as I type this messege. It may seem as though this song would go along with the end of Halo... but that is so very wrong. Halo Combat Evolved, which launched in 2001, still has a massive fanbase- True, not as big as it was ten years ago, but still there none the less, and when Bungie finished the fight, 343 started a new one.

Halo lives on in our hearts, on Xbox Live, and in this music. Never Forget.

  • @ruggedscorpio The days of Halo are gone... :'( Hate to say it but CoD has taken over the world... despite it being extremely repetitive... fuck you Activision, go die in a hole.

  • @xNintendan95x Cock of Doody modern gayfuckstupid

  • @ruggedscorpio you mean "our"?

  • Y'know, the soundtracks sounded best like this, even when it sounds like a symphony, its all electronic. really sold the future thing

  • @Thedeoradude It's not all electronic. The first game was often electronic, but still had some real instruments. Halo 2 had TONS of horns, strings, and drums. Halo 3 had even more, and Reach had a HUGE amount of orchestra at times. All the singers were real too.

  • @PugetChowder ok, poor wording on my point.

it SOUNDED electronic. it SOUNDED like the future, and it brought the ideas of the two games together. compare this to the halo 3 soundtrack, and it just feels a bit sterile, a bit, er, shiny. and that's what sells the idea

  • Who in the world would not realize that halo 2 has music O.o Shame...pure shame.

  • @LoneWolf117Leader If you're referring to me, I meant HL2 as in Half-Life 2 (as in I didn't realise Half-Life 2 had music), rather than Halo 2.

  • @AirWaterLandBuffalo well... one last thing i have to say is... what the fuck is half-life???

  • @LoneWolf117Leader The first Half-Life was a game from '97 which was pretty much the first FPS to include a proper story and AI behaviour. The second came out in '04, and included the Havok physics engine, which was also pretty innovative. I find it somewhat odd that you haven't heard of them, to be honest.

  • Halo2 had the best soundtrack and story of all the halo games

  • You know, instead of reading comments about the game, I'm going to fire it up and play it.

  • 6:10 so apparently this is a remake of an older track from the game Marathon? I like it, it has that old MIDI PC feel.

  • Fucking amazingly beautiful song, it gives me chills and makes me cry, and all epic at the same time, HALO 4 EVER!

  • my fav song from the ost

  • High Charity... By the gods!

  • 2 people pressed the wrong button.

  • @TheNiceAnders FINALLY one of these comment that isn't retardded/copypasta!

  • Why is it that game sound tracks are better then any other soundtracks? I mean this and all of Halo's music has always been the best. Thnk you Marty.

  • your forefathers wisely set aside there compassion sealing themselves from what needed to be done. you were weak, and gods must be strong

  • @GuvenMukremin Oh i comment my self as magic some how lol

  • @CrazyFont 6:50-8:32 IS THE BEST PART!

  • Halo is more than a game, lol

  • I love the water dripping solo at 7:18.

  • I love the water dripping solo at 7:40.

  • @KoPT01 What are you talking about? Halo 3 is long gone now.

  • @damanwidaplans

WHat does this have to do with my comment?

  • @KoPT01 messed up. it was directed to thedarkspinesonic8

  • @damanwidaplans what i ment was: would you understand ANYTHING of halo 3 if halo 2 wasnt there? would you get how elites and humans made an alliance? would you even know the arbiter? would you know master chief changed armor from mark 5 to mark 6? i mean hell i could go on forever.

  • @TheDarkspinesonic8 That's like saying "they couldn't have made the sequel to the first movie without the first movie" I mean, no shit...

  • @damanwidaplans i know...

  • Your pal... where's he going?

Earth. To finish what we started.

  • Things look different, without the prophets lives clouding my vision. I would like to see, our own world. To know that it is safe.

Fear not. For we have made it so.

    By your word, Arbiter.

    Take us home.

  • @cyraxis11

    heh

  • " i cant believe hes gone" "Words so easy"-arbitor

  • @deakon452876 were it so easy, not words

  • Comment removed

  • 3:53 scared crap out of me!

  • black ops campaign want touching, far from it, it was very suspenseful and ppl cant deny no matter how frustrating CoD may be its very addictive. i like halo for its story not really multiplayer thats why i have CoD

  • WHEN I first played Halo I was never to have known that it would be a great game

  • Halopedia FTW!

  • why can't people like Halo AND Cod? There two separate games. You can't really compare them as they are too differant.

  • @mosespart2 CoD: Realistic. halo: New and awesome. Winner- HALO!!!!!!!!!

  • @mosespart2

    Halo Soundtrack - CoD Soundtrack

    Halo Graphics > CoD Graphics

    Halo Gameplay > CoD Gameplay

    Halo Storyline > CoD Storyline

    Halo Multiplayer > CoD Multiplayer

    Halo Campaign > CoD Campaign

You see what I'm getting at? Halo beats CoD in every single way, which is exactly why people can't like both. If you do like both, you clearly haven't played Halo enough to appreciate how superior it is.

  • @Jeledaify Ofcourse you are intitled to have your opinion, but how can you say that halo and Cod music are equal? Show me one song that lives up to a Halo song.

  • @Jeledaify - I can't agree with that conclusion simply because those are your opinions, not facts. The whole thing is subjective. IMO, CoD beats Halo gameplay and multiplayer-wise (faster-paced play in general suits me), but is beaten everywhere else. Hence, I can still like and appreciate both of them.

  • you're an idiot

not only are you making categorical claims in areas that can't be objectively quantified, you're assuming that a preference for one entity completely prevents recognition of another

  • @Jeledaify I don't think I agree with that. But let's please not start a war between Halo and CoD fans in every Halo/CoD video.

  • @Jeledaify

It's a matter of opinion. I like both. I just like Halo WAY more.. If I'm angry, I'm going to play some CoD.. If I want to chill, have fun with friends. I play Halo. But I play WAY more Halo than CoD. The Soundtracks are amazing (Touching, even, In my opinion.)

The campaign has a better Story line, and Bungie is more dedicated. That's all I got to say. But it's still a matter of opinion.

  • @daniel304kingkong I second this, an opinion is not a fact.

  • @daniel304kingkong CoD and Halo story-lines are equal.

  • @MrPwnosaurus

Mmm, I find Halo mroe touching though.. You get bound to characters.. Thee only touching scene for me in CoD was really where Ghost died..

  • @daniel304kingkong And the ending of CoD 4 wasn't touching? I'm not saying Halo is a bad game, I play a lot more Halo than CoD, but people have to stop comparing the games. Both have good and bad things.

  • @MrPwnosaurus Meh, the thing about Call of Duty is that it's just an annual rehash with reskinned weapons and a few hours of story. Don't get me worng, I enjoy playing it but the story of CoD gets quite tiresome when you're just fighting terrorists and Russians. There's no diversity to it.

Story is where Halo excels, there's mystery, there's a dark tone and atmosphere, there's interesting and iconic characters and there's utterly divine music.

  • @MrPwnosaurus Well, you cant says there better than each other, or say there equal. There nothing alike. There like thying to compare a rock to dunno, a food processor.

  • @MrPwnosaurus alright then, give me a detailed storyline of COD

  • @daniel304kingkong i can't agree more :)

  • @Jeledaify dude your such a fanboy.

Did you even read what I said? They are completaly differant games and you can't compare the two. There is nothing wrong with liking both.

  • @Jeledaify God you're dumb

  • When you first saw Halo were you blinded by it's majesty?

  • @TheTruth006 I died and rose from the dead. ;p

  • @TheTruth006 I was paralyzed, Dumbstruck.

  • @TheDarkspinesonic8 me 2 and i was high as a motha fucka as well

  • halo 2 music beats halo 1,3,ODST, and REACH in every way

  • @bioscience99

    Combined.

  • it is an awesome game but its music its even more awesome

  • Lolooololololololol Really? Since when are games supposed to be realistic? HAHAHA. Don't make me laugh.

  • Cod CAN SUKC Mah Dickies HALO HAS BEST SOUNDTRACK

    Thank U Marty & Michael

  • halo 2 rules let live rest in peace

  • @dfgrde GFTO srsly....

  • Marti O'Donell FTW! FTW! FTW!

  • "The Good, The Bad-Ass, And The Ugly" 7:42-8:26

  • The first minute and a half should have been the music during the ending of Lone Wolf in Halo Reach.(Leaving Spoilers out of course)

  • @TurbonegroIXMR it would've been my favorite mission

  • @TurbonegroIXMR

YOU MEAN WHEN NOBLE 6 DIES?!

  • @CommonSense718x lol XD

  • 6:09 :)

  • 8:05 best!

  • the intro to this song is my favorite part.

  • gives me chills and makes me tear. Marty O'donnel is a genius! So many emotions in this one song!

  • Thisss...from 6:10 more or less, sounds so much like Leela track from marathon.

  • @AkimotoMiharu Maybe. Bungie made both games.

  • @Espeelover Yeah...I know that.. Read tshaw453's comment, he explains it : )

  • @AkimotoMiharu this is indeed the remake of leela's song
