where you get this? no se como no había visto esto antes, esta canción me trae tantos recuerdos de una época de mi vida como ninguna otra canción lo ha hecho, las guitarras y la voz de Thurston en esta canción son...(sin palabras).
@BoyArgentina I was about 2 reply but i think we've had this conversation b4. I'm 99% straight but Thurston Moore (& Ranaldo) are cute! (Only Kim Gordon is sexier). It's funny how they're not s'posed 2 be "rock stars", & listen to us...
I saw the EVOL' tour in '86 in a cinder block garage smack dab in the middle of a cornfield in Kansas! The second time I felt intimidated by the band. The other, Black Flag '84.
Another example of sonic youths amazing originality. Great driving rhythms, with sorta sinister, sorta groovy melodies all through it. sorta hard to explain, but i'll always dig this track. The change from verse to chorus is so uplifting, all my hairs stand on end listening to it. I think thats a sign my hairs like it too. Seriously though, i wish i could write songs like this. this is a classic
My brother has had Sonic Nurse for the longest time. It's easily a 5 star album, but he never got any more of their albums for the both of us to hear. (80% of the stuff I listen to is my brother's because he's older and we have similar taste in music.) Now I will fix that problem by buying Daydream Nation and Goo because both of them also sound like 5 star albums.
This is more than just a song, it's like a dream. These were like the days when grunge rock on average was sincere to the art of it all, amazing vibe!
It's like they nailed that cool spookiness here without sounding conceited. Creativity just oozes from this.
@OnTheLibraryComputer grunge was a bunch of opportunistic hair farmers in flannel doing their best zep/sabbath impressions. this is way better than grunge.
I had goose bumps watching this video..one of my all time favourite sonic youth songs and videos its been an age since i've seen it..however, i was under the impression that Richard Kern directed this vid? can anyone clarify?
All over the years this still is one of few MAGIC songs!!! ^.^ Man i love sonic youth for their sound

God, i love that solo, the cripsness of the guitar, the nicely layered song, more mainstream, but beautiful

This song has stuck in my mind. When I heard it after 2 years or so, I had a flashback of listening to this while walking in the falling snow.

Yeah earlier albums Sister, Daydream Nation, Goo recommended. Bit hit and miss imo, but a handful of great songs on each album

Listen to A Place To Bury Strangers, also a NY band.
Loads of SY, but also Joy Division, Jesus & Mary Chain, Cabaret Voltaire and other 80´s sounds.
Master thieves I say!
Great distortion sound!
