  • can we cry?

  • HEY !!! WATCH "JELLY PLANE" on YOUTUBE !!!

  • FILMED IN TORONTO MUTHERFUCKAS!!!

  • beautiful dreamy music. I think I like the Goo album even more than their great Daydream Nation.

  • man seriously , I didnt know Beck was in Sonic Youth

  • Locomotifx... i really like him!!! LOL!

  • i was very much into this album when I was 12-13 years old back in 1990 and this song always stood out to me and still does after all these years.

  • where you get this? no se como no había visto esto antes, esta canción me trae tantos recuerdos de una época de mi vida como ninguna otra canción lo ha hecho, las guitarras y la voz de Thurston en esta canción son...(sin palabras).

  • This has to be one of their best tracks.

  • God, i love that solo, the cripsness of the guitar, the nicely layered song, more mainstream, but beautiful

  • I am a guy and i like Lee Ranaldo... as a MAN! LOL! I mean it!

  • @BoyArgentina I was about 2 reply but i think we've had this conversation b4. I'm 99% straight but Thurston Moore (& Ranaldo) are cute! (Only Kim Gordon is sexier). It's funny how they're not s'posed 2 be "rock stars", & listen to us...

  • One of my favorite Sonic Youth songs. I love when they go for that dreamy, ethereal vibe.

  • This song has stuck in my mind. When I heard it after 2 years or so, I had a flashback of listening to this while walking in the falling snow.

  • If there was an Olympics for guitarists, Sonic Youth would win a Gold medal

  • I saw the EVOL' tour in '86 in a cinder block garage smack dab in the middle of a cornfield in Kansas! The second time I felt intimidated by the band. The other, Black Flag '84.

  • I used this song in one of my action sports videos, it came out really good!

check it out if you want: vimeo.com video 13067382

  • Dave Grohl, you're welcome.

  • @beb2459 Pwned! ^.^

  • this music is drugs

  • what album was this on?

  • @Shoomski Album Goo

  • @EyesShinigami Ah! Thanks man!

  • Americana

  • GUYS it's been way too fuckin long since i heard this song.

  • Did u see the size of those cones? lol

  • Another example of sonic youths amazing originality. Great driving rhythms, with sorta sinister, sorta groovy melodies all through it. sorta hard to explain, but i'll always dig this track. The change from verse to chorus is so uplifting, all my hairs stand on end listening to it. I think thats a sign my hairs like it too. Seriously though, i wish i could write songs like this. this is a classic

  • this song is music at its finest.

  • I like this, but quite frankly I preferred the original cut, especially the ending.

  • I love when Sonic Youth go super atmospheric and dreamlike with their sound. This was my favorite song off Goo.

  • Yeah earlier albums Sister, Daydream Nation, Goo recommended. Bit hit and miss imo, but a handful of great songs on each album

  • This is my all time favourite song. Just luv it!

  • Directed by Todd Haynes

  • My brother has had Sonic Nurse for the longest time. It's easily a 5 star album, but he never got any more of their albums for the both of us to hear. (80% of the stuff I listen to is my brother's because he's older and we have similar taste in music.) Now I will fix that problem by buying Daydream Nation and Goo because both of them also sound like 5 star albums.

  • don't forget Evol and Sister...

  • Don't forget Washing Machine and Experimental Set, Trash and No Star

    Have a good one!

    &

  • Why don't they make music like this anymore?

  • because they do not want to be static

  • Listen to A Place To Bury Strangers, also a NY band.

Loads of SY, but also Joy Division, Jesus & Mary Chain, Cabaret Voltaire and other 80´s sounds.

    Master thieves I say!

    Great distortion sound!

Best vid to watch is My Weakness.

  • around 3 min mark is brutal!!!!

  • eso es musika y no mamadas, influencia para grupos los "YOUTH" para siempre.....

  • This is more than just a song, it's like a dream. These were like the days when grunge rock on average was sincere to the art of it all, amazing vibe!

It's like they nailed that cool spookiness here without sounding conceited. Creativity just oozes from this.

  • @OnTheLibraryComputer Couldn't express it better....Sonic Youth's music is made with the stuff the dreams and fear are made of

  • @OnTheLibraryComputer I like that comment ! "cool spookiness without sounding conceited"

  • @OnTheLibraryComputer grunge was a bunch of opportunistic hair farmers in flannel doing their best zep/sabbath impressions. this is way better than grunge.

  • To me, one of the best intros ever.

Saw them twice, Nurnberg in the 90's and Paris a few years ago, loved it.

  • отлично, отлично то как! (шмайл)

  • One of my favorite songs off Goo.

  • titanium expose is the one!

  • polf

  • redefining music...

  • God damn

  • 1:27 is that the guy from third rock from the sun :P

    love this song

  • love it soo much!

  • Amazing, one of their best, saw them twice, in Nürnberg in the 90's and in Paris in 2004(?)

  • Cheers Jeffnerd..thanks for the headsup..

  • The director is Todd Haynes. He just directed I'm Not There and Velvet Goldmine (one of my favorites)

  • wow velvet goldmine too?? thats so cool i love that movie

  • I had goose bumps watching this video..one of my all time favourite sonic youth songs and videos its been an age since i've seen it..however, i was under the impression that Richard Kern directed this vid? can anyone clarify?

  • Classic. It sounds as fresh as I first heard it back in the day.

  • well, Todd Haynes knows how to make a great video!

oh but I'm so sorry I missed their Prague show :(

  • Slamming cut. Best thing on SY's excellent _Goo_. This is indie rock.

  • i'm surprised no one's mentioned the appearance of a young chloe sevigny in this clip. short, but sweet.

  • it's like a very very good trip

  • This is the song that got me into Sonic Youth.

  • top stuff!

  • head on out to a western star land

  • i have no words
