I remember hearing this during the Eurovision interval in 1981 in our home in Cordoba. We turned the tv up and danced in the garden with the neighbours.....

i made that up, but it could have happened to someone that year!

true - Donal Lunny is a true stalwart of irish music and a friggin genius. Saw him with the Hearts in Dublin recently. He should be a world-renowned figure in music.

ahh... its been playing in my head for years, and finally found it here. Thanks a million for posting this one Might890 ! Its a seminal work from Bill Whelan, later to become famous for his Eurovision Riverdance compositions, but this work pre-dates the celtic renaissance of the 1990's, showing orchestral sophistication and confidence in the tradition mixed with sophisticated rhythms - the climax is worth waiting for. Living History !
