  • Wait a minute, doesn't the last few seconds of timedance have a melody similar to Butterfly from the Celtic Woman soundtrack?

  • This music blows that of Riverdance out of the water.

  • Beannacht Lá Fhéile Pádraig

  • Agus tusa freisin. Is rud iontach é, daoine ag baint usáid as ar teanga féin :)

  • I remember hearing this during the Eurovision interval in 1981 in our home in Cordoba. We turned the tv up and danced in the garden with the neighbours.....

i made that up, but it could have happened to someone that year!

  • Timedance when performed during the Eurovision had the same impact on me as the later Riverdance did on a younger generation. Stunning...

  • Absolutely amazing! Ireland is one to places i would like the travel most.

  • Best ever.

  • I bought this on a 12 inch single in Dublin in 1983, and still adore it!

  • BRILLIANT....!!....the original and not the 90's remake...... many thanks

  • Where could i possibly find the sheet music for this beautiful piece?

  • Wow! Amazing! Where did you get thei! Have wanted to see this for years! Thanks millions.

  • Wow, Timedance and the Blaskets ... I think I've died and gone to heaven.

Sublime, thank you so much for this!

  • Class...

  • Brilliant post, I have been searching for years for the soundtrack. It brings back great memories and its brilliant to hear Paul McAteer on drums and Christy on the bodhran.

  • wonderfull, thank you mighty890, to post this one

  • true - Donal Lunny is a true stalwart of irish music and a friggin genius. Saw him with the Hearts in Dublin recently. He should be a world-renowned figure in music.

  • ahh... its been playing in my head for years, and finally found it here. Thanks a million for posting this one Might890 ! Its a seminal work from Bill Whelan, later to become famous for his Eurovision Riverdance compositions, but this work pre-dates the celtic renaissance of the 1990's, showing orchestral sophistication and confidence in the tradition mixed with sophisticated rhythms - the climax is worth waiting for. Living History !
