I find it completly crazy that these guys were pretty much hung from a tree for lipsynching to great tunes, and not only do they lose their grammy they lose their record deal, yet we have people like Ke$ha and T-pain who use auto tune to make up for the fact they can't sing a note and they are out here making millions! I guess MV just came around at the wrong time, because in this day and age what they did would be more than excepted it would be the norm and no one would think twice about it.

Yes, their problem. I was never a huge fan of Milli Vanilli but they were cool when they were around in their peak. Yes, I agree. But don't you agree that when you take people who have never had anything and offer them fame and fortune that it is nearly impossible for them to say, "no?"
Well, the offer is definitely a tempting one and I never indicated otherwise. But the option to say "thanks, but I'll pass" was always there for them. They were huge in the 80s and the music was exceptionally popular at the time. It is even starting to make a come back on 80s stations. I wonder if they receive royalties for that?
I truly doubt that even the remaining guy gets any royalties or residuals at all for any of this music that is sold or played today since it was all a lipsync scam and shame to the music industry.

I think so. Yes, they knew what they were getting into and the possible danger of being caught, but these guys were so broke dancing for tip money on the streets of Germany just to eat and it was hard for them to turn down the offer for a big break for fame and fortune proposed by Farian. He got to seriously bank on these guys and hid while they took all the heat from the scam. Yes, they should've thought it through, but again, they were broke when they were discovered.
Today is April 2th, Rob's 11th memorial day...I can't imagine that much long time has already passed since he's gone!

After the scam, the made an appearance on the Arsenio Hall show and performed....and to everyone's suprise....these guys could actually sing and should've from the beginning of their career, but Frank Farian saw a chance to bank on their dancing talent and he knew Rob and Fab were broke when he discovered them and they could not say "no" to fame and fortune...Frank Farian hurt these guys.What an asshole!!!!!

Uhhh...yeah and the two dorks lipsyncing were blameless? They had a choice and chose to sell out any semblance of ethics for riches and fame. Fair enough, it was a very tempting offer to be sure. But don't play the "poor me" card afterward. They accepted the glory, accept the consequences. And I saw this dozy duo on Arsenio....they sucked. Looks? Yep. Dance moves? Yep. Singing talent? Not even remotely.

You're excused and I haven't claimed to be an expert on anything. But, if you seriously wish to defend to fellows who didn't sing, but lipsynced, have at it. When they did attempt to sing, it sucked, in my opinion. That is subjective. If you think they rocked, great for you. Make a T-shirt that says so and wear it, just expect to laughed at on a regular basis. A bit clearer now that you've thought about it?

The sad thing is that most really have to be careful about how they comment on Youtube because people like you get so very offended. All I am saying is, when you take people off the streets who are struggling and are living with very limited means, and offer them fame and fortune, it is next to impossible for them to turn it down. Yes, they knew they faced possible consequences, but when it all came out, only they took the heat and not a damn thing happened to Frank Farian.

Yes, their problem. I was never a huge fan of Milli Vanilli but they were cool when they were around in their peak. Yes, I agree. But don't you agree that when you take people who have never had anything and offer them fame and fortune that it is nearly impossible for them to say, "no?"

Well, the offer is definitely a tempting one and I never indicated otherwise. But the option to say "thanks, but I'll pass" was always there for them. They were huge in the 80s and the music was exceptionally popular at the time. It is even starting to make a come back on 80s stations. I wonder if they receive royalties for that?

I truly doubt that even the remaining guy gets any royalties or residuals at all for any of this music that is sold or played today since it was all a lipsync scam and shame to the music industry.

I think so. Yes, they knew what they were getting into and the possible danger of being caught, but these guys were so broke dancing for tip money on the streets of Germany just to eat and it was hard for them to turn down the offer for a big break for fame and fortune proposed by Farian. He got to seriously bank on these guys and hid while they took all the heat from the scam. Yes, they should've thought it through, but again, they were broke when they were discovered.

And one more..They DIDN'T KNOW what they were gonna do AT THE TIME OF MAKING A CONTRACT..They just signed the contract form without reading it, (we usually do it when young, right?) and were given quite amount of money way BEFOREHAND..and when they realized the truth a bit later..they themselves were shocked..but it was too late to get out that track or trap, mainly cuz of the contract they already signed and partly cuz of their being in huge debt to Frank Frian.

I know they knew what they were doing. Bu, it was Frank Farian that originally planned the whole story and then control it all..! How could he blame all those things on Rob&Fab and he himself crept out of it like a snake?? Without him, Rob wouldn't have had to face all shits, fell into drug and finally died of overdose. And Fab could've had some chances to show off his own music and talent ! He used them and earned heaps of money off of them. And then discard them. I hate that kind of trick.
