Guys! I am advocate. I do wanna comment on this. % of divorce cases come to my colleagues are really less in case of arrange marriage than in love marriage... ratio comes like 1:99....
So better lets thinks before we marry..... I am not against love marriage infact I am also in love.......
the percentege of divorces doesn't neccerely reflect wether arranged marrieg is a good thing or not. many marrieges stay together and are very unhappy.
Nobody has all the solutions. There is no formula for a happy life. You just need to accept that different people have different ways, and all of them work.
The divorce rate in India is low not because arranged marriages are more successful but because of societal norms - it is difficult for people to remarry at a later age and divorce is generally looked upon negatively therefore people tend to stay in an unhappy marriage rather than go their separate ways. I think it is elitist and ethnocentric to believe that the institution of marriage somehow works better in India than in the west.
why do indians feel the need to "solve" the "problem" of high divorce rates in the west? in the west people divorce their partners if they can't live together anymore. there is nothing good or bad about it. it's just the way things are. get over it! no one needs your arranged marriage "solutions".
@themymrhyde It seems west is very ignorant of the divorce rates by considering it "neither good or bad". Family generally doesn't always consists of the two partners who don't get along. In the end its their children who suffer, it's just that in India people put the family's welfare first to their personal discrepancies and learn to adapt.
@hitcsRonnie, @themymrhide: also, if 'the west' really follows the Bible as they pretend they do, they would never divorce their partner. Because the Bible says you cannot divorce your partner unless they are unfaithful to you. divorces for this reason are very less in number.

That's lame. An article came out last year about divorce increasing in India partly due to the fact that Indian women are working now. They can afford to not rely on having their husbands provide for them. There are married men and women in India who are miserable and ONLY stay married because of FAMILY obligations and tradiion. I would rather be alone and at peace than married and miserable. Good luck people.

So video was good just the content at the end was like... Vat dah!? So whatever... Marriage takes effort on both sides and if both parties are not willing to try for it yes it fails- arranged or love marriages-relationships! Good luck to all who have arranged marriages!
