the biggest problem with people who cannot do alt picking is mainly a really small fear.. "wat if it goes wrong?"... i remember when i used to hav that problem.. i was hesitant to move my guitar pick like that.... its actually just a hesitation u hav to overcome...

I don't think that's a gothic series. It doesn't have the fret inlay and then there's the binding... Also the pickups look to be S/S/S configuration.. Then there's the fact that is has a floating bridge. I don't know what it is but it looks cool and sounds good too.

its alternate picking, and you just have to practice extremely slow and build up strength and speed. it will probably take you a while to get good at it.
