Dude be careful!! It's all about being balanced with the Paleo as well. Your body needs CHOs to function properly and by cutting them out your limiting you potential for insulin store which is causing the fatigue. Maybe try consuming equal portions of macronutrients and exercise rigorously which will help with the weight lose! Keep er' up dude we are all ways learning about ourselves!

I personally don't believe in the Paleo diet because carbs do not make you fat, too much food does. People who are obese, didn't get fat from eating brown rice or cooked lentils. They got fat from too much processed junk. I tried out the Paleo diet although I've been lean all my life. I'm a swimmer and was totally drained on Paleo so it's not for me. I need complex carbs.
Paleo is better than the average American diet though so it's still healthy but it's not the holy grail of diets. Good luck.

@TheUnbreakableOne Agreed. I only just finished reading that myself. It's one of the most important books I've ever read. I actually have been trying unsuccessfully to become vegetarian since 2005. No longer.

@TheUnbreakableOne dude today waz the day 1 of my paleo diet, but FYI i lost 5 kg in 1 month, then other 5 kg in 2nd month. with 8cups green tea a day, no fruit other than oranges and lemons, and lots of vegetables and other cooked stuff. no sugar, less oil...but now just paleo diet as long as i can do it.
@equsnarnd the real formula was to eat 3 days of food and tea for 1, but i recomend 6 days of food and tea for 1, because we are already on paleo diet.if ur not on paleo diet, 3 days food and tea for 1 (eat whatever u want in 3 days),i already am fit,but my face is sculpting and im loosing the fats that are hard to remove from face and all parts of body.ok drink as much green tea as u want.its for only 1 day,i drink green tea everyday 8cups,and 15-20 cups on 7thday.
@FahadRyu I drink one cup of green tea per day so this won't be too hard. Have you ever heard of the Calorie Restriction Diet or sirtuins or Roy Walford at UCLA?
@equsnarnd 1 cup will not benefit u, make it 2 ,,,yes im very familiar with both theories... we need calories,fats,carbs,saturated fats,sugars every day in some amount..but there are lot of theories, they all make sense...it depends on your health and body, energy levels which diet u want.if ur loosing hair, u need nutrients, if ur feeling fatigue, u need calories and good fatsn sugars..............
@equsnarnd ....... if ur fat, u need to stop fried and dairy. thats how everybodys diet is different from eachother.its dangerous if we stop consuming any 1 of thee needed fuels.a great chinese philosopher once said "if we lean on any one cencept too long we will collapse ourself"
@equsnarnd oatmeal doesnot fall in paleo diet, but it is a really good breakfast, i used to eat it, ii still have it in my kitchen...i will include it back in my diet if i need to.its got likee all the nutrients we need
Oatmeal contains gluten and gluten certainly isn't Paleo but if it works for you then go for it. As for me, if I eat it I'm feeling the effects big time.
@equsnarnd i red enter the zone 2 years ago.about raw thing, i always followed "daniel vitalis" vegan ,year ago i have been raw vegan for 6 months and i felt weak, then i saw that daniel vtalis became just raw foodist, he started eating all kinds meats,dairy from local farms where animals were not treated with growth hormones, and are grass fed not grains.he is eating raw meat, i will never do that,but i do eat proper paleo,meat and eggs cooked on fire veges, some kinds of fruits.
@equsnarnd my breakfast is at 7am 1 whole egg scrambled(without oil cooked on a non sticky pan) 2orangejuice+lemonjuice 1apple,eating 2eggs just dont make sense, there is already lots of calories fats proteins in 1 egg large, eating 2 eggs in 1day doesnt feel rite.1egg is good for 1day
lunch 12pm - white meat with spices cooked on fire,cucumbers, carrots
dinner 6pm - salad, white meat(fish,chicken) i have eaten like 23 types of fishes
my energy levels are high again, feeling better everyday
@FahadRyu o and taking early morning shower everyday is wonderful, and taking first sunlight early morning really kills all the negative energy for the day
@FahadRyu Have you read Enter the Zone by Barry Sears? Ever read any of the literature on eating raw? I like the proverb. What is a typical breakfast for you on the Paleo diet?
Just be careful. Brock Lesner just burned a hole in his intestines eat this way. Almost died. No time in our history did we eat mostly animal products. We gathered mostly and ate animals when we could. If you are not losing by creating a 700-1000 calorie deficit every day through exercise and calorie restriction then your hormonal system needs help.
Human beings are opportunistic omnivores, eating whatever's available. From the inception of out species, some groups have consumed 90% animal-based foods while others consume 90% plant'based foods. The human body's very adaptable.
For me, it's much easier to reduce carbs than it is to deprive myself of calories. If caloric restriction works for you than that's great, it's just not for me.
@INetVisionNow Your right. This is not his interpretation of Paleo. WHen you take no carb and strictly meat, it is Atkins. He does not seem to know what Paleo diet really is about.
Did you even read his comment, asking about Paleo's advocation of eating only raw meats? It's obvious that neither of you have read the book.
If you want to be successful you need to approach the material with a critical mind, adapting it to meet your individual needs. My goal at the time, for example, was rapid fat loss. In my opinion, the best way to achieve rapid fat loss, while minimizing the hunger pangs of conventional diets, is ketosis.
So, unlike the modern version of the Atkin's, I chose to consume only high-quality foods, prepared at home. The problem with the Atkin's Diet these days is their "franken-food" substitutes that they peddle to people who don't have the self-discipline to give up grains. In fact, you'd be better off eating a piece of natural bread than some scientists approximation.
I am on a break from the primal diet. I was getting painful leg cramping at night for months. Later I found out it was because I was not getting enough salts. Cavemen would have drank salty animal blood for their salts. Make sure you don't shy away from sodium and your other electrolytes. You need more salt when you eat this way.
I LOVE the Paleo diet.... tried everything under the sun for years. Almost always lost, but gained it all - plus more, back. My Dr. recommended the Paleo Diet, He said he had been on it himself, felt it was safe, lost 30 lbs and planned to make it his lifestyle becasue he liked it so well. Worth a try, I thought. I have lost 43 lbs in 6 mos. and have not suffered one bit. I have not gone hungry one bit!!! I encourage everyone battling a wt. problem to try Paleo-you won't regret it!
@fremontgal1 Channel 5 News Dr. Kim here in the San Francisco Bay Area tried it under clinical conditions. It's even better than the Middle Eastern diet which has carbs in it. A diabetic lady on the show even reduced here diabetic medications from ten to two after going on the Paleo Diet.
But diet soda?! Dont drink that it so bad, there some good documentaries out there about why Aspartame is so bad for you!!!! It also messes with your bodies metabolism and all other processes. Aspartame is no good, your better of drinking tea with regular sugar! I would recommend though instead of diet pepsi: Tea with Raw unpasteurized unfiltered honey, and milk. Its good stuff. But aspartame man, SO SO BAD! The paleolithic peoples didnt drink that shiz and neither should we!
Raw organic unpaseurized cheese is the best. Also I don't know if you've heard of this but Bone broth, from simmering the bones of the meat your eating, is a great drink (water gets boring) and full of minerals. Lots of vids out there on it, I like the origin0balance vids. Apart from all their workout vids they do have GREAT raw recipes, especially the bone broth and the raw smoothie :) BONE BROTH: watch?v=GNOYsFUA3nc RAW SMOOTHIE: watch?v=mmD6R7r9cG4
I'd like to point out that fruit and veg is completely unnecessary for getting vitamins and minerals. All the vitamins (with the exception of C, which may not even be needed on a high fat, high meat diet) are easily available in meat, Cod Liver Oil is great but beef, lamb, chicken, pork, duck livers are good too, eggs, muscle meat, bone broths - all great for vitamins and minerals. I challenge you to find a paleo diet focused mainly on meat that doesn't provide well over the RDA of vits & mins.
The Paleo diet is the ONLY diet. My allergies have all but vanished, my health improved, my energy increased, it even brought my hypoglycemia under control. Oh, and during the first year of eating strictly Paleo, I lost 60 pounds. . . without exercising. No effort, my body shed the pounds and one year later I have kept them off.
Both. My son had a severe food allergy to peanuts, & milk/milk products as well as an allergy to cat dander and dust mites. He tested for zero allergies six months after we went totally paleo. I myself suffered from an allergy to grass pollen, particularly to Bermuda grass. I had no food allergies, but I had sensitivities to raw tomato and melons of all kinds. Now...nothing. Oh and my total loss to date is now 80 pounds.

@ProfDeth Your burning calories just by being alive. Heart pumping, lungs breathing, all burn calories. The Paleo diet helps that because of lower insulin levels due to the diet.
My husband is on the Paleo/Whole Foods diet. He talked me into it a week ago, but I've only been adhering to it about 50-80% of the time. After watching your video, I'm really encouraged to push it to 100% compliance. I have 150 pounds to lose but in addition to weight loss, I want to be HEALTHY. I have many health issues. Some things are irreversible, like a bad heart valve, but I'm curious to see how much better I'll feel overall on Paleo. I've only been overweight for the last 10 years.
@UniquelyGeeky oops... I want to lose 100 pounds, not 150 pounds... getting down to 150-ish pounds is my goal. Also, prior to the last 10 years, I was extremely skinny my whole life, and most of my problems were from BEFORE I gained weight, so I know not all my problems are from being overweight, but I know it's complicating things.
I'm female... 50 years old... I weigh 247 (Highest weight was 256) and I am about 5' 8". Wish me luck : )
No, I don't buy into Cordain's Paleo. Cordain's fear of saturated fats and dairy is unfounded. I don't plan on eliminating either from my diet. In fact, the vast majority of the fat I consume is saturated and I use butter and each cheese everyday.
@TheUnbreakableOne your video says 'day 637' how long have u been on paleo?
and all i have to say is that i do believe in cordains paleo. i have 4 other friends very close to me who live it. seems to work. idk im just saying you should try it out
I've been posting videos here since 2008 but I've only been eating more paleo since December 30th, 2009 (less than 4 months). In those 4 months I've lost 60 lbs and I've enjoyed saturated fats and dairy the entire time. I think Cordain's paleo gets it mostly right, and that you'll make great changes in your health and physique while following it, I just think there's a better, more forward-thinking approach to paleo available. And that's what I've chosen to stick to.
Always looking forward to your videos. You're really informed about what you're doing. You are the opposite of many of those awful women's fitness magazines in that you're a proponent of no pink weights, lifting heavy, and eating clean.
I'm a vegetarian, so I'm finding it a little difficult to put on muscle. I do the egg and cottage cheese thing, but it gets boring. Have you ever tried those vegetarian protein powders? What do you think of protein powders in general?
I am opposed to pink db's and cry babies so I'm a little bit worried about where that'll leave me once I get back into personal training! What client, in their right mind, would want to hire me?!
Have you read 'The Vegetarian Myth' by Lierre Keith? She was a vegan for 20 years and it wrecked (!) her body. It's a stimulating read, I highly recommend it. I'm no vegetarian but I always had a ethical problem with slaughtering animals for food. It helped to lay some of those concerns to rest.
As a vegetarian getting enough of what you NEED is always going to be a problem. You've helped yourself a lot by eating dairy and eggs but achieving adequate levels of fat and protein consumption is probably still an issue. I don't personally do protein powder as I prefer whole foods and I've always put on muscle mass easily. I'm not for or against them, I think that they can certainly help though. Just stay away from soy! Try hemp protein, it tastes terrible but I've heard good things.
Are you noticing any difference to your energy level when you lift? I always eat carbs on the days I strength train, but I'm curious to know if you are experiencing any difference.
I felt like shit in the beginning, in those "carb flu" days, but I've felt pretty much up to par since. Sometimes I even feel better than ever and surprise myself in the gym. My body has what it needs, if anything's affecting my performance it's psychological.
i was drinking fruit and yogurt smoothies last summer and it seriously hampered my weight loss. sure, i had a great burst of energy but i too got much better results when i switched to water and just ate my fruit whole..btw, your really funny, your little closed caption comments crack me up!
Dude, glad to see you're still going. I'm still not big on organ meats, but I do have a beef heart in my freezer from US Wellness meats. I'm also doing the intermittent fasting....
Good to see you have found a diet that is working for you and unlike a typical crash diet includes foods that you will be eating long term such as meat, olive oil. Hope you're not off fruit and veg too long, the contain lots of different vitamins and minerals essential to your wellbeing and immune system. Otherwise you are doing really well and you're looking a lot slimmer!
Thank you, thank you. How's Aussie-land? I've been playing a lot of XBOX lately, and often it's against Aussies over the internet. I've found that if I call them a "kiwi" they get really mad.
lol
What's with the feud between New Zealand and Austrailia?
@TheUnbreakableOne - I wish I could say they were going great, but it's been kinda rough in the eating department. Working on that cuz I've never been one to give up!! :D By the way, thanks for subscribing. Got a video coming out today where I rant and rave. Never done THAT before in a video!! :-/
The human body can synthesize almost everything it needs on a meat-rich diet, organ meats in particular, which I'm working in slowly. I'm very confident that all will be well.
it would be interesting to see what your blood levels are like. Not just blood pressure but the minerals and vitamins and also triglycerides and cholesterol. I know that sometimes a high protien diet can actually lower the levels
I had my blood tested last year and I'm excited to have it tested again. My total cholesterol was a little high, about 215, but my HDL was high and my LDL low. This time around, I'd like to have a more detailed test that actually tells me about each type of LDL (the big, puffy ones being good, the small ones bad). My triglycerides were also a little high before too. Everything else is well in range though and I expect them to remain so.
The foods you showed at the end all look like a high protein atkin's based diet. You need fiber man! FIBER!

@iconerror I think the carbs in vegetables make him want more sugar, so that's why he supplements with the fiber.

FahadRyu 1 year ago
@FahadRyu How much green tea in a day?
equsnarnd 1 year ago
@equsnarnd the real formula was to eat 3 days of food and tea for 1, but i recomend 6 days of food and tea for 1, because we are already on paleo diet.if ur not on paleo diet, 3 days food and tea for 1 (eat whatever u want in 3 days),i already am fit,but my face is sculpting and im loosing the fats that are hard to remove from face and all parts of body.ok drink as much green tea as u want.its for only 1 day,i drink green tea everyday 8cups,and 15-20 cups on 7thday.
FahadRyu 1 year ago
@FahadRyu I drink one cup of green tea per day so this won't be too hard. Have you ever heard of the Calorie Restriction Diet or sirtuins or Roy Walford at UCLA?
equsnarnd 1 year ago
@equsnarnd 1 cup will not benefit u, make it 2 ,,,yes im very familiar with both theories... we need calories,fats,carbs,saturated fats,sugars every day in some amount..but there are lot of theories, they all make sense...it depends on your health and body, energy levels which diet u want.if ur loosing hair, u need nutrients, if ur feeling fatigue, u need calories and good fatsn sugars..............
FahadRyu 1 year ago
@equsnarnd ....... if ur fat, u need to stop fried and dairy. thats how everybodys diet is different from eachother.its dangerous if we stop consuming any 1 of thee needed fuels.a great chinese philosopher once said "if we lean on any one cencept too long we will collapse ourself"
FahadRyu 1 year ago
@FahadRyu Have you read Enter the Zone by Barry Sears? Read any of the literature on eating raw? I like the proverb.
equsnarnd 1 year ago
@equsnarnd I meant to ask if you use oatmeal on the Paleo diet?
equsnarnd 1 year ago
@equsnarnd oatmeal doesnot fall in paleo diet, but it is a really good breakfast, i used to eat it, ii still have it in my kitchen...i will include it back in my diet if i need to.its got likee all the nutrients we need
FahadRyu 1 year ago
@FahadRyu
Oatmeal contains gluten and gluten certainly isn't Paleo but if it works for you then go for it. As for me, if I eat it I'm feeling the effects big time.

@TheUnbreakableOne thanks, n keep goin

FahadRyu 1 year ago
FahadRyu 1 year ago
@FahadRyu o and taking early morning shower everyday is wonderful, and taking first sunlight early morning really kills all the negative energy for the day

@FahadRyu Have you read Enter the Zone by Barry Sears? Ever read any of the literature on eating raw? I like the proverb. What is a typical breakfast for you on the Paleo diet?
equsnarnd 1 year ago
Just be careful. Brock Lesner just burned a hole in his intestines eat this way. Almost died. No time in our history did we eat mostly animal products. We gathered mostly and ate animals when we could. If you are not losing by creating a 700-1000 calorie deficit every day through exercise and calorie restriction then your hormonal system needs help.
nyclear 1 year ago
@nyclear
Scare tactics much?!
LOL
Human beings are opportunistic omnivores, eating whatever's available. From the inception of out species, some groups have consumed 90% animal-based foods while others consume 90% plant'based foods. The human body's very adaptable.
For me, it's much easier to reduce carbs than it is to deprive myself of calories. If caloric restriction works for you than that's great, it's just not for me.

I think youre on the Atkins diet more than the Paleo. Isn't the paleo diet with completely raw meat?
INetVisionNow 1 year ago
@INetVisionNow
No, not at all.
TheUnbreakableOne 1 year ago
@INetVisionNow Your right. This is not his interpretation of Paleo. WHen you take no carb and strictly meat, it is Atkins. He does not seem to know what Paleo diet really is about.
jrodz02 1 year ago
@jrodz02
TheUnbreakableOne 1 year ago
@TheUnbreakableOne

At the end of the day I'm much more "Primal" than "Paleo" in that I'm not afraid of dairy and salt in moderation, saturated fats, etc.

I am on a break from the primal diet. I was getting painful leg cramping at night for months. Later I found out it was because I was not getting enough salts. Cavemen would have drank salty animal blood for their salts. Make sure you don't shy away from sodium and your other electrolytes. You need more salt when you eat this way.
sciencegirl1 1 year ago
@sciencegirl1
I've consciously reduced my sodium intake but I'm still getting plenty. I'm not strict Paleo.
Thanks for the comment!

Juices & soda are bad for you because it either does away or diminishes the fiber content. It makes you fat quite easy.
moxohol 1 year ago
@moxohol It's also addictive and makes you constantly thirsty. Coca Cola for example.

I encourage everyone battling a wt. problem to try Paleo-you won't regret it!
fremontgal1 1 year ago
@fremontgal1 Channel 5 News Dr. Kim here in the San Francisco Bay Area tried it under clinical conditions. It's even better than the Middle Eastern diet which has carbs in it. A diabetic lady on the show even reduced here diabetic medications from ten to two after going on the Paleo Diet.
zzap999 3 months ago
But diet soda?! Dont drink that it so bad, there some good documentaries out there about why Aspartame is so bad for you!!!! It also messes with your bodies metabolism and all other processes. Aspartame is no good, your better of drinking tea with regular sugar! I would recommend though instead of diet pepsi: Tea with Raw unpasteurized unfiltered honey, and milk. Its good stuff. But aspartame man, SO SO BAD! The paleolithic peoples didnt drink that shiz and neither should we!
prsglenn 1 year ago

The Paleo diet helps that because of lower insulin levels due to the diet.
zzap999 3 months ago
My husband is on the Paleo/Whole Foods diet. He talked me into it a week ago, but I've only been adhering to it about 50-80% of the time. After watching your video, I'm really encouraged to push it to 100% compliance. I have 150 pounds to lose but in addition to weight loss, I want to be HEALTHY. I have many health issues. Some things are irreversible, like a bad heart valve, but I'm curious to see how much better I'll feel overall on Paleo. I've only been overweight for the last 10 years.
UniquelyGeeky 1 year ago

637 days? I don't know what you mean.
TheUnbreakableOne 1 year ago
@TheUnbreakableOne your video says 'day 637' how long have u been on paleo?
and all i have to say is that i do believe in cordains paleo. i have 4 other friends very close to me who live it. seems to work. idk im just saying you should try it out
carrasco717 1 year ago
@carrasco717
TheUnbreakableOne 1 year ago
Always looking forward to your videos. You're really informed about what you're doing. You are the opposite of many of those awful women's fitness magazines in that you're a proponent of no pink weights, lifting heavy, and eating clean.
I'm a vegetarian, so I'm finding it a little difficult to put on muscle. I do the egg and cottage cheese thing, but it gets boring. Have you ever tried those vegetarian protein powders? What do you think of protein powders in general?
Keep up the good work! :)
theblehgirl 1 year ago
I am opposed to pink db's and cry babies so I'm a little bit worried about where that'll leave me once I get back into personal training! What client, in their right mind, would want to hire me?!
Have you read 'The Vegetarian Myth' by Lierre Keith? She was a vegan for 20 years and it wrecked (!) her body. It's a stimulating read, I highly recommend it. I'm no vegetarian but I always had a ethical problem with slaughtering animals for food. It helped to lay some of those concerns to rest.
TheUnbreakableOne 1 year ago
As a vegetarian getting enough of what you NEED is always going to be a problem. You've helped yourself a lot by eating dairy and eggs but achieving adequate levels of fat and protein consumption is probably still an issue. I don't personally do protein powder as I prefer whole foods and I've always put on muscle mass easily. I'm not for or against them, I think that they can certainly help though. Just stay away from soy! Try hemp protein, it tastes terrible but I've heard good things.

I felt like shit in the beginning, in those "carb flu" days, but I've felt pretty much up to par since. Sometimes I even feel better than ever and surprise myself in the gym. My body has what it needs, if anything's affecting my performance it's psychological.

I'm yet to try organ meats at all, but I'm seriously considering it. I'm not all that adventurous an eater.

it would be interesting to see what your blood levels are like. Not just blood pressure but the minerals and vitamins and also triglycerides and cholesterol. I know that sometimes a high protien diet can actually lower the levels
pocomotto 1 year ago
I had my blood tested last year and I'm excited to have it tested again. My total cholesterol was a little high, about 215, but my HDL was high and my LDL low. This time around, I'd like to have a more detailed test that actually tells me about each type of LDL (the big, puffy ones being good, the small ones bad). My triglycerides were also a little high before too. Everything else is well in range though and I expect them to remain so.
