I remember watching this game and cheering when they tore the goalposts down but in my older age I can see how it was wrong with 49 ticks left. Probably wouldn't have been as bad if it was all over.
As a Penn State fan I have to say hats off to West Virginia for doing what no other team that played Paterno has done. And that is scored 50+ points.
West Virginia has had some good years recently and I'm glad to see another Northeastern team do well. It's a shame that Rodriguez is a weasel, but things look to be okay with Bill Stewart.
I'd love to see WVU join the Big 10. Or maybe even play PSU in a bowl.

Good memories..my dad and I had season tickets from 83-88, those were some great games. The 88 and 84 wins over PSU and that last win over Flutie were something else..things got pretty crazy!

I believe the score was 51-30 actually because I can remember being in the hospital and watching it from my room. I think WVU lead 41-7 at halftime in that game. Penn State had a bad football team that year! I hate WVU myself but it's nice to hear old Jack Flemming's voice since he also used to call the Steeler games!

nah. CBS returned many times after that. CBS use to cover a lot of big east games especially in the later 90s before they went all SEC. Honestly, the only things I watch is ACC and big east football.

I was a junior at the time..got to the stadium @ 11am and was like 20th in line to enter. Sat at midfield, 3 rows up to see above crowd walking by. I rushed the field too MJV.
