  • is this a guarnieri violin?

  • @scaramoucheichigo

That's the Ex-Soil Stradivarius of 1714. He purchased that in the late 1980's and it's his main instrument.

  • Fantastic

  • Thank you so much for uploading this breathtakingly beautiful interpretation. Cheers, Kevin

  • A lot of times when I listen to Perlman I feel like it's incredible, but at the same time not distinguishable or unique. I don't feel like that at all here. Absolutely beautiful!! I'm so glad I came across this video!!! Barenboim is great too!!

  • amazing!!!!!! <3 he's so inspiring !! i would comment on the pizzacato though.. but the playing is absolutely fantastic!!

  • Brahms, Perlman & Barenboim together...'Fantastic' is not enough !

  • just learning this :)

  • Oh....

.....I remember Tsukimori from La Corda D'Oro playing this song with his mother on the piano...

  • a good recording, thought I think Perlmen played a bit too fast

  • check out Richter and Oistrakh's recording, if this one is running, then Richter& Oistrakh were definitely flying... :)

  • He didn't record this one specifically with Richter. Only with Frida Bauer and in an obscure recording with Lev Oborin.

  • this is probably about as non troppo as vivace will allow.

  • OOOMMMGGG SO INCREDIBLY AMAZING!

  • this is my favorite piece ever, and perlman just plays it in this way that moves me everytime i listen to it.

  • Yes. Three sonatas on the same night :)

  • 2 of the greatest musicians of the 20 and 21st century meeting together to make pure music. you gotta love it.

could you possibly post the rest of the concert? I know that he also recorded the other two brahms sonatas on the same night.

  • I admire Barenboïm. He's not only a great director, a great pianist, but also a great accompanist and a great chamber musician. It's unique.

  • AND is a great person, too. i admire him too, and also itzhak ´perlman

  • holy crap I never thought i would ever see this thanks

  • i love Daniel Barenboim. so selfless in his playing-it's all about the music.
