I cannot believe I'm saying this, but he was "on sale." I got him for $1600. It was wayyy worth it though. He was hand bred, hand fed, and hand tamed. He thinks that humans are his flock, so he was a sweetie from the get go. Considering untamed birds are sold at Petco for twice that, I'm thinking this was a pretty good deal for a very pretty bird. XD
I never thought a bird would be a very fun pet animal to have (I'm more of a cat person myself) but this video kinda changed that. That looked really cute (except for the poopoo-part :P )
I hope for you and your families sake that you weren't too lazy to clean it up and left it there rotting o.O

Try checking out Dr.'s Foster and Smith. They have a specific catalog for birds, and one of the items that I've actually purchased is a bird leash/diaper. Granted, it takes a lot of work to get them used to it, but once they'll actually wear it, it's legal to take them anywhere, even the doctor's office because their poop is contained. You can even get removable liners!
