  • Great Job! I'll be looking to add a mega spiral tree this year, would you be willing to email me your spiral sequences? Id appreciate it!

    Kevin turbo010582@yahoo.com

  • @Krobert0182 Thanks Kevin, email being sent!

  • Would you be interested in selling your sequnces? I am going to add a spiral tree in my dispaly and I am loooking for someone to do sequencing for me. Any interest/ gnevala@yahoo.com

  • @MrGnevala Are you just looking for the spiral tree or want the whole sequence? They are just about the same as a regular tree, they just look a bit different. You can have any of my sequences you want, mind you now my spirals are only 8 channels and four colors so a total of 32 channels. I'll send you an email and then you can let me know what you are interested.

  • Great video!! I am 16 and i do an entire display myself. I love making my own decorations. And I am seriously thinking about making a few trees. I am not sure if you have facebook but you can search my page Conway Christmas Lights Extravaganza and see what the trees will look like when i make them.

  • @jc42395 Thank you! Checked your display out and you have a pretty amazing spread there. A lot of work, nice job!

  • @jerryb721 your welcome!! And thank you!

  • GREAT DIY video. Thank you very much. I am looking to add something new this year and I think these will look great. How many lights and channels did you use?

  • @fdwhitey thanks for watching. I have 8 channels each of red/blue/green/white, each with strands of 100 is folder in half, so you could use just 50 lights strands instead.

  • Well Done. After this year being my first year I want to do more next year and i am pretty sure these will be on my list. Thanks for making this video.

  • @maxtima4 thank you maxtima4 I hope this video helped you some.

  • Next year I'm calling lightorama I need suggestions on my first set up like light selection and where to buy if you can give me any advise I'd appreciate it thanks

  • @scottyneely Sure send me a message through YT's message and we can swap email.

One things you should do is sign up for the lightorama forum. Lots of info and help there.

  • You using 1/2 or 3/4 pvc?

  • @buckstopper2 I used 3/4" PVC

  • @jerryb721 Ok Thanks!

  • Can you tell me how many channels you are using?

  • @Somthinsup I have 32 channels 8 each red/white/green/blue

  • wow!!! :)

  • @piratascbtis37 thanks!!

  • That is a great weber tree! I am going to make 4 or 5 feet trees, but will stack them after the season is over, so I can store them in the garage. Thanks for your advice!

  • @MrSimplefilm Thanks for watching and good luck with your project!!

  • Jerry,

Built a copy of your spiral tree. you can checkout my test of the tree at on my youtube - user name KJ4UVY . Just got a LOR 16 channel controller but it will not be used this year. The tree will be illuminated with a 6 channel Gemmy controller that I bought several years ago at an after Christmas sale. I designed a topper built from a commercial star and made the mount for it. Additional photos and video will be posted when I get time.

  • @KJ4UVY The tree looks good, if I may make a suggestion I think taking a 100 light strand, fold it in half and wrap the tree with it will give you a fuller look.

I'm really surprised how many people are making this tree frame this year. It must just be a good doable size for most folks.

    Thanks for sharing, Jerry

  • @jerryb721 The topper is a stock LED topper from the local Wal-Mart. The mount is a flat circle cut from 3/16" plexiglass with a 3/4 PVC coupling glued (with PVC cement) to the center. A short piece of 3/4" PVC will support the star, which fits snuggly on the pipe.

I elected to use 50 string LEDs for experimentation and I want to add Red, Green and Blue. We will see what the after Christmas clearances bring.

    Thanks John

  • Thanks for the how to...very good design. What is your spacing on your screws? How many screws down do you start your first string? Did you say it was a 16 ch tree?

  • @bigmotezee I have 3" spacing on the top uprights and 4.5" on the bottom uprights.

At the top i put one screw above each upright then one in between. I then wrap down only on the screws inline with the uprights and skip down one screw on the next upright. I guess the best way to put it is the strand starts at the top screw then on the next upright I skip a screw and attach it to the next screw down which is 6" down, the next at 12". after all 8 are done I then start the screws in the middle

  • Hey, love the how-to, we use LOR and are thinking of doing this for our display this year, could you send us the file to try the tree out?

  • Do you have any videos showing it in action? I saw the visualization, but I was curious how the actual tree turned out. Great how-to!

  • @TheDualCubes thank you and yes my videos form 2010 show the spirals. the 2010 sandstorm at about 1:10 shows the spiral

  • Look great how many strands???

  • @buckrduck 32 strands in total, 8 per color. Thanks for watching

  • Jerry do you sequence it as a normal mega 1-16 ?

  • @kitainky Yes you can do that.

If you use LOR I have a .lcc file I can share and you can try your mega tree out with it

  • 2:18 I see bulbs missing.

  • @StreakyTheFurry you have too much time on your hands. lol

  • I was wondering how you did this, Jerry, thanks! :)

  • @StreakyTheFurry thanks Adam

  • awesome work!!

  • @Alfram thanks for watching

  • Thank you very much.

I have to say your spiral's shape is perfection, even spacing, nice spiral coil, just beautiful.

  • WOW - That is pure Genius !! I like that alot !
