I was really happy to finally see someone giving correct information about weight loss on the Raw food lifestyle. I have seen almost every other Raw Foodist on You Tube tell everyone that they can eat as much raw foods as they want and still lose weight. It has caused many people to just give up thinking they won't ever lose weight because they were told only that by other misinformed YouTube celebrities. Keep up the great work Natasha:)

id like 2 comment that i dont totally believe that everyone's metabolism is completely different..i think its more of a blood type issue. some people respond to fruit better and some respond to other raw foods better because of hereditary reasons

I thought skin was only improved when you had a mostly fruit/low fat diet like you have. I can't afford high calorie fruits as the staple of my diet, but I can afford nuts. So I guess ill never get clear skin :(

Cows get fat on grass. Anything in large enough quanties or higher fat raw foods can make you gain weight. If weight is an issue you still need to watch calorie and fat intake. Things like large amounts of avocados and nuts could be sabotaging your efforts to lose weight..

Loosing weight is quite simple. You just have to eat less calories than what your body requires. Same goes for gaining weight. You eat more than what your body requires.
Drinking Mtn Dew and eating candy when I smoke weed is sooooo hard to kick.... lol.... I'll be trying the raw food diet again, I think I;d be more successful if I was single and didnt have to worry about what my spouse is wanting to eat. She wont go for it. grrrrr. I'll find a way lol somehow....

It's been something I've been thinking of and noticed some of the things you mentioned (ex: gain weight easily if I eat a few too many nuts/seeds, also need to watch my fruit intake because then I don't eat enough greens, which make me feeling amazing!) It's good to know there isn't just ONE model that fits everyone. It's really misleading how so many raw advocates claim that people can eat as much as they want.

Such a great video. Have been raw for 2 years now and I am still not at my ideal weight, and I know this is a lot to do with believing that I could eat whatever I wanted. I love being raw, but I feel it is unfair to give people unrealistic expectations as it can be incredibly demoralising when all you are eating is healthy organic food and the kilos aren't moving...being raw does not exclude one from the laws of physics lol even its a healthy fat you will still put on weight if you eat a lot
I haven't gone raw, but I HAVE started doing whole food/raw smoothies (and not even solely, as a fast...just replacing a couple things during the day). I have lost 3 pounds since I started on Saturday (just 6 days ago). And, yesterday, I had bread...and felt like junk. Just junk when I went to bed. Blegh.
I'm confused about the raw food diet. Can you ONLY eat raw food & what exactly counts as raw food? Only fruits/vegetables?! Or can you still eat peanut butter, greek yogurt, protein shakes, etc? & do the fruits/vegetables have to be organic? We don't have a whole foods where I live so it's kinda hard to find good organic foods.
@aho12345666 When people refer to the raw food diet they usually mean raw vegan...So you wouldn't use any yogurt as it's obviously made from milk and you wouldn't use any protein powders if they are from whey or any other animal source...You can get raw hemp protein though which I use and is excellent ...But I try not to stick to any hard rules and I don't put a label on my diet I just try to make sure I get lots of vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds...Especially concentrate on leafy greens:)

I watch my fruit, nut and oil intake. The cooked foods I do eat are brown rice, whole grain breads, and beans, and I eat these in small amounts. Will going completely raw help me break this plateau?
@Star3L You might have lost percentage of body fat which is more important than actually losing weight. Once you start decreasing your percentage of body fat, the weight will fall right with it. Paying attention to your weight on a scale can be nerve wreaking and that's why I say pay attention to the percentage of body fat lost.
@Astghik143 if it's yogurt thats made with dairy, NO, and if the hummus was cooked or pasteurized, NO. If you are interested in 100% raw food lifestyle, you cannot eat any thing cooked or pasteurized. I hope this helps
