It does seem like the dark ages. Like most ppl have suppressed their conscience, their basic understanding of right and wrong. But in the diaspora I agree and believe it's just a deeply flawed attempt at trying to stay connected to the homeland. However the older ppl should know better. Maybe it's guilt for leaving the country before independence?
