  • Hope he attends the Oscars this year

  • Love Love Love Christoph waltz!!!

  • hellou xD

  • Me imagino la cara de todos con la pregunta en aleman

    o.O wtf?

es la cara que yo hice

  • He's soo awesome!!

He's my idol for languages and acting!

  • And Chris did't let me down ;)

    Classy guy

    >Dumb reporters< [aversion?too normal, modest actor?no provocation, therefore no gossip? awwwww...pity...]

    Pathetic...

  • Hello :)

  • nobody has manners anymore! How can you throw words at somebody like "this nazi role will STICK to you for the rest of your life" ..

    unbelievable..

    A true gentleman and intellectual.

  • You people need to calm down lol seriously. I love Christoph but you need to understand more than half those people don't know who the hell is is or what he did before IB. So I don't get pissed at them for not knowing much about him, sure they could have researched more but hell they have more actors in ask questions too not just him. Stop being so butthurt, pretentious and obsessive. The anti American rants are also pretty ignorant. I'm sure Christoph wasn't as pissy as you people are.

  • Thanks, it was fun ! I understood what he wanted to say,

in any case if I was a journalist I would ask him full of questions !

  • Fucking Americans are fucking stupid.

  • @cupomash2 oh come on.

  • @MWcrazyhorse I think if you care to look at the two top posts you will find I am right - so come on yourself.

  • Americans were clearly stunned by his ability to speak more than one language, lol! :) As this is his first début in US, lazy reporters didn't bother to do their homework and therefore, had no questions to ask, moreover, all paparazzi questions are usually based on gossip which, unfortunately to them, was not the case this time. p.s. Christoph Waltz should have been the only person to be nominated for this award. :) p.p.s. I just loved the "silence"... :D

  • Waltz is an incredible actor, I'm glad that he won. The idiot who introduced him as "Christopher Warts" is another story..

  • He was incredibly polite and sweet, and that room seemed rude and uncaring.

  • The guy was incredible. Very memorable.

But this interview room , seem awkward... is there somebody dead/drunken on the floor in the middle of the room ?

  • Lol @ the first reporter. Congratulations to Mr. Waltz, he totally deserved it.

  • As somebody who is very interested in learning foreign languages, I wish he had gone into more detail on how he picked them up. But obviously this interview isn't supposed to be a seminar on language-learning, so that was sort of a stupid question for the interviewer to ask. Anyways, Christoph Waltz is a great actor!

  • he seems uncomfortable here, but still seems so gracious and polite

  • @naybaby691 yes, because they trat him like an idiot and with so many stupid non logical questions. he is SO smart, and those "gringos" reporters dont like smart people.

  • @Sochilinda hahah gringos, I hardly ever see that on youtube ;D

  • @soragirl792 well, they certainly act like that, haha.

  • He can replace the guy who plays "The Most Interesting Man In the World"

  • "You'll forgive me Im sorry Ihave exhausted all of my French and dont wish to embarass myself, I'm led to learn you speak English...Would you mind if I switched to English?"....GOLD

  • Christopher Waltz is so beast.

  • the reporter sound like they r scared of him...hahaha...

  • what a cock of a question....... that fuck head probable still lives with mum & dad

  • he could explain a bit more about how he got his language experiences. am disappointed how less he talks and explains

  • I REALLY want to shoot that reporter. I remember first watching Inglourious Basterds and Christoph really captured me with his performance. He was awesome!!!! Plus, I was amazed how wonderfully he spoke each language in the movie!

  • Humble as can be

  • haha well that was awkward

  • I found the first questioner fucking rude and ridiculously patronising. Clearly fucking racist. I love how he gets one clap at the end too what's that about? His acting was great in a not so great film. Being very slightly German myself, I found some of it very insensitive. It was incredibly immoral... Tarantino is fucked up.

  • @KH2R0xas I am not racist, and obviously i don't think all germans are (and were) nazis, but i didn't find the movie racist at all. I think it was supposed to be funny, albeit it's not a masterpiece it was good enough. They used germans as the villains because the third reich was the quintessential evil empire in our (american made) immaginary. And the vengeful jewish were the absurd ingredient that made the filminteresting. Anyway the first journalist was a rude and ignorant person.

  • @KH2R0xas

Agree to a certain extent about the interviewer, and also wonder why only one person clapped at the end, though I completely disagree about Inglourious Basterds being a not-so-great film. It was fantastic, some really good acting and very intense scenes, with that touch of black humor.

    Don't get how it's insensitive.

  • @KH2R0xas Yes the interviewer was rude, but I definitely dont think Tarantino is fucked up at all. He's not trying to hurt anyones feelings with Inglourious. He just had an idea of World War II, and he went with it. Its strictly for entertainment purposes. Christoph says himself, that he believes Inglourious is a work of art, and he is very good friends with Quentin. I respect your opinion, but this is mine. :]

  • it´s a bingo :D

  • stupid reporter! genious actor!

  • What a bunch of idiotic interviewers, except for the lady that is.

  • This was kind of hard to watch at the beginning...I feel sorry for him

  • Aww, he is level of propriety makes me blush a bit. XD

  • that seemed very awkward..especially at the end

  • I knew that the second I saw Christoph in Inglourious Basterds that he was going to get an Academy Award... just an outstanding performance...you couldn't take your eyes off him!!

  • Christoph is awesome!

  • He is still in character... I love the way he talks....

  • Never liked christoph speeches or answers!

  • Those nonsense questions are an insult for such an actor in my opinion.

  • I wish I could speak four languages. Right now I'm learning french.

  • @dancagurli ha! europe pwns all babey!

  • the reporter sucked

  • Tut! Journalists.

  • He was great, those reporters they suck

  • anyone translate me the dialogue in german?thank you

  • Reporter: Who would be the one you would like to thank the most for the award you are holding in your hands right now?

    Waltz: Quentin Tarantino

Reporter: Do you already know the proper spot to place your award in?

    Waltz: Still thinking about it.

Reporter: Who will you celebrate with tonight?

    Waltz: Quentin Tarantino ;)

Reporter: Will you shoot another movie with Quentin?

Waltz: I can only hope so, but i dont know his plans

  • Thank you so much :). I also want to apologize on behalf of that reporter for being a totally insensitive douche

  • he is amazing

  • My line would be... "In the Matrix" Next question :)

  • I don't blame him for wanting to get out of there as soon as he did. How embarrassing for him,

  • I have to say those interview questions were quite idiotic.

  • @moonskeen

The same procedure as every year

  • I thought his response to the first reporter was hilarious. If I were sitting in that room I would have cracked over that joke. why isn't anyone laughing?

  • Stupid american reporter.

Americans think all the world is dumb like them and it's very difficult to learn another language.

Half the world outsite US speaks a second language.

  • This is SO true

  • @murilourso Americans are dumb yet we're the most powerful country on the planet. Tell me, what has Brazil offered the world besides supermodels and ugly soccer players?

  • he is so polite and gentleman!! he looks so simple. and an amazing actor. i dont know how that stupid reporter could treat him like that. to HIM.!!!!

    he so intelligent, congratz!!!!:D

  • i know. what an asshole

  • how dare that repoter do that.

  • what a gentleman. But his politeness couldn't be seen by the 1st reporter. he says '' yeah, that left'' dumb..

  • "thank you! that was fun!" lol:))

  • Yes, that first reporter was incredibly ill-mannered and idiotic. What stupid questions he asked!! Simply graceless!

  • Saw the movie last week and loved Waltx's perrformance. He was totally believable in the part and in my view carried the film. Even though the film is pure fantasy, he really gave me the shivers. Well deserved Oscar.

  • I saw this award coming while still watching the movie. Incredible performance. At least the german reporter treated him well, I enjoyed hearing Christoph speaking german again. The first reporter was a jackass and a disgrace.

  • A little rude to just bust out in German in front of a public(even with cocks such as the first ass who asked the moronic question). That comment intends in NO way to be disrespectful towards Germans or the language. Anyhoo, this guy totally deserved it.

  • That's probably because she is a reporter for a german television station, and the viewers will be mainly german. NOt to be rude.

  • oops...I was under the impression this was American television.

  • From the camera that you were viewing the press conference through, it was American television. However, the german lady also had a camera crew there, and therefore through that camera it was german television. The guy is an Austrian actor, and is a german native speaker. Everything else he said will be sub-titled when aired in Germany on the German TV station, but now its got 15 seconds of him speaking German, from a german reporter for german viewers. Whats wrong with that?

  • Respect. Christoph Waltz. Respect.

  • I was at NYU with Christoph...so proud of you:)

  • lol he hates when people refer to the hans landa as evil.. he really got into that role man

  • the first reporter is an asshole... how inappropriate, his questions and his pompous demeanor... another fat, unaccomplished loser who's jealous of those who actually do and achieve.

  • christoph herzlichen glückwunsch zum oscar!

du hast es dir redlich verdient!

    congretulations christoph

    greetings from germany!

  • "Hello!" lol, he's so funny.

  • ich bin so VERDAMMT begeistert!

  • That first question was the most idiotic question. Waltz is by far the best actor of 09.

  • The questions suck soo hard...

Great preformance great charismatic actor.. I hope he`ll becoma a moviestar he deserves it.

    How old is he ?

  • He has 53

  • oh really ? he looks way older. dont get me wrong I like him

  • really , but i don;t think that he look older.

  • He won't get typecast. What an idiot question!

  • That first guy seemed like a fucking asshole, he was like, "Yeah, that left" cheeky little fecker!

  • he seems to be a kind person..

  • why is only one giving applause?

  • I can hadly believe how delicate and soft spoken he seems here. He's even a little arched when he walks away ... Guess he's already channeling Freud. :D

  • that first question was so stupid

  • What is it? Don't you speak german? Eigentlich schade, denn es ist eine sehr schöne Sprache.

  • "what was the second question?" hahaha :)))

  • manchmal denk ich mir wie kann man als reporter nur so bescheurte fragen stellen ich würd wenn ich schon die gelegenheit hätte viel gescheitere fragen stellen!!!!!!

  • I saw the movie a couple days ago, and couldn't believe how good his performance was. That whole scene where he's just fucking with Shosanna is awesome, and the opening scene...wow!

  • good actor quentin finds good actors

  • Can anyone translate what the female reporter said in German?

  • she asked waltz to whom he's mostly thankful (->tarantino), where he's going to place the award (->he doesn't know it, yet) , with whom he's going to party this night (->tarantino) and if he's going to make another movie with tarantino (->he would like to but he doesn't know the future plans of tarantino).

  • Ah, thank you. Or should I say "Danke!" :)

  • @selfidentity1

well maybe cuz he´s a native german speaker, u morron ? I think the question should rather be why YOU stupid motherfucker dont speak german.

  • hahahaha!!! Ausgezeichnet!

  • Comment removed

  • i really can't believe the dumb nature of peoples questions. idiotic.

  • Haha. I agree.

  • He's so witty. i hope to see him in more american films. "I learned them like my first language, I started talking" I need to learn German.

  • this are questions that just circulate around and doesn't contribute with anything. why ask? you should know the answer already.

  • I guess silence is golden.

    Otherwise, you end up like

    the diabolic journalist.

  • I bought the DVD because of his fantastic role. Hope he wins an Oscar.

  • @nuvigroovi Me too, me too. I just adore his performance. I'm using Rosetta Stone to learn German now! lol

  • I`m very happy he won, because he deserved it

  • I like how whether reporter asked him how did her learn to speak so many languages he speaks properly but then says" When I started talkin" lol not talkING but talkIN" lol love it.

  • Without a doubt ,optimum actor of all the ones that are concurring, good luck in the Oscar my country, Brazil is twisting

  • The german reporter wasn't aplogizing for another reporter's rudeness. She was just generally asking where he'll put his award, who he'd celebrate with and if he would like to be in another Terentino movie etc.^^

  • No, he's not a bastard. He is a very good actor and he must also win the Oscar!

  • I start talking :) pwnd

  • What a lame brained reporter. Diabolical? Did he even see the movie? Why not compare his character in IG to Peter Falk's Columbo instead of using such a generic adjective? Its like walking up to Harvey Kietal or DeNiro and saying that they are "intense". Only in America!

  • @HungMedium well said!

  • it is so nice to hear his austrian accent ;)

  • hes so polite =)

  • the last german question was her apologizing for the american reporters rudeness, and he replies no worries, i understand, thank you.

  • this is not true, but never mind.

i love this. this clip was recommended to me by a friend for showing how rude christoph waltz is. but he does the right thing: stupid question, stupid answer. so easy can life be! come on: speaking four languages? what can you expect here as an answer?! to ask him for his favourite colours would be an appropriate alternative to this. but the best thing is the question for his burden, from now on being always associated with a diabolical nazi... oh man! (1/2)

  • "this is not true" was @ brandonlss' comment.

(2/2) I understand that these reporters may have never seen another movie with waltz before, but he's found his position in cinema culture years ago. he is well respected + highly recommended at least in europe. this is just another movie for him - of course, this prize is great and he might like int. success - but you think about him as an actor in a role, not "the nazi". he already had established himself in the business before. that's the point.

  • He wasn't even remotely rude in this. And even if he does get irritated with the ignorant questions he's being asked here, he has enough class to answer politely.

  • Comment removed

  • You're so very right, I couldn't believe what I was hearing from the reporters.. How much more dumb things can you ask?

If you get the chance to talk to him, then use it in a senseful way...!

  • i love thje part where the reporter ask .how did you learn to speak all those languages.

OMFG thats hillarius only an an American reporter could ask that kind of quistion ( because the whole world speak (AMERICAN ) not english..English but AMERICAN... english............WE AL LIVE IN AMERICA, COCA COLA WUNDERBA

  • ????

  • hes not really nervous

  • hes so nervous ^^

  • It sure as heck didn't help that the idiot who introduced him called him "Christopher"....and that he was asked such stupid questions!!!

  • if this man doesn't win an oscar for his role in inglourious basterds, i will set my gran on fire.

  • Die deutsche Journalistin war bestimmt von der Bild...so interessant wie ihre Fragen waren...

  • He seemed a little bit nervous.

  • Mr. Waltz should offer the 1st interviewer a glass of milk for his boring questions.

  • Er hat seine Rolle wirklich gut gespielt. Mit sehr viel Leidenschaft. Für mich hat er diesen Award verdient:

  • Only good parts = Hans Landa and Hugo Stiglitz screentime.

  • And bar scene with British soldier and Brigette Van Hammerschmack

  • ahhh how i love The Beard ;D

  • haha, he is so witty, charismatic and soooooooooooooooooooooooooo freaking hot! "Das ueberleg ich ma noch!" haha, he still can sound AUstrian and I like the way he said Hello at the beginnin :)

the second question with the diabolic Nazi character was just stupid, what idiots are sitting there?

  • Mr Waltz is actually the reason why i think Inglorious basterds deserved make a BIG upset with the best supporting actor AND the best original screenplay AND the best director. Oh And the best prize of all BEST FILM for March!! Well done Quentin and Well done, Christoph! You made us 'Ingloriously' proud!

  • I learned them just like my first language, you know.. I started talking

That's just brilliant answer to an idiotic question

    Loved it!

  • I thought the same thing! lol!

  • Chistopher Waltz = the only good part of Inglorious Basterds

  • You're an idiot! I can name many good parts. The Bear Jew, Hugo stiglitz, Brad Pitt's accent and character. The whole movie was great!

  • No, silly your repeating yourself which means your wrong twice in a row now. Bear jew was lame. Brad pitt's accent and character could have been played by a cardboard cut-out. Only good parts = Hans Landa and Hugo Stiglitz screentime.

  • So you don't even think Michael Fassbender and August Diehl had good parts? And yet you're exhalting Til Schweiger's eight minutes of screen time?

Boy, you just lost your credibility from this comment alone.

  • I'm repeating myself? Uhh I don't understand. Bear Jew was not lame at all. I don't really care what you think. I thought the movie was FANTASTIC! But you're entitled to your own opinion.

  • Even better, I can name the intense and amazingly written first scene where he has milk with the frenchman, and the bar scene where guns go blazing!

  • Thank you for translating the questions in German avalongirl1999 :)

  • what was the girl asking??

  • 1) She's asking him whom he wants to thank for for wining the award

    2) Where is he going to put the award? He says he doesn't know yet

    3) With whom is he going to party tonight? QT

    4) is he going to cast in another QT movie? He says that he would love to but doesn't know of any of his plans

  • the academy is a sham if he does not win the Oscar. My heart pounded every time he was on screen!

  • He was AMAZING in Inglorious bastards!!

That first guy asking questions was RETARDED!!!
