  • Miles Davis once said Louis Armstrong not only invented jazz but every kind of music that came after. This performance proves it, still sounding fresh 80+ years later. The person who said Louis Armstrong should not have sang needs a box of Q-tips. Louis invented phrasing.

  • Pops was the greatest!!! Truly a senastional musician, and vocalist... Some people just don't know....

  • Some voices just weren't meant for singing. He should have just kept playing that trumpet and never opened his mouth.

  • i went to his house and it was awesome

  • A young Louis - he just got better as he got older! What a telent - there isn't a musician in the world today that can come even close!.

  • King Louis. Long live the king of jazz. True entertainer, in every sense of the word. May the dear Lord bless his sweet soul.

  • One of the greatest performers of all time.

  • Pretty much the only music regular people were familiar with at this time was classical and folk. This must have sounded spectacular at the time, especially when experienced live.

  • @Axelman852 i mean it still sounds spectacular

  • This is Armstrong at his very best. What an extraordinary talent he was. This performance makes me smile every time. No one does it better than Louis!

  • This makes life worth living and gives me hope for humanity. What higher compliment can I pay?

  • Amazing, amazing, amazing...
