It was devastating to see such a beautiful and modern city go through a war... We went back this year, and it's nice to see that everything has been repaired and the city is back to its old beauty.

Yugoslavia was an ill fated experiment which TWICE failed. It was a forced amalgamation of dissimilar peoples who were only kept together due to miscalculated Western diplomacy and ruthless srbo-communist dictatorial rule. Sorry for the ignorant comment below me. Their were people of many races,colors,cultures. As Yugoslavia was the head of the non aligned movement people from all over the third world came to be schooled in Sarajevo,Belgrade,Zagreb and Ljubjana.
Yes universities all over ex Yugoslava were open to people from 3rd world countries and they did not have to pay for their studies and they could work in country without problems...Most of those in Sarajevo were from non-aligned African countries and Middle East..
